My latest flavor order came (bunch of grape flavors, and others to try and help boost the grape), and I spent almost 8 hours mixing and matching what I had to no avail - some trial and error, some recipes I found on ELR and ATF, low percentages, high percentages - most of it came out chemical-ly and blech .. I don't think grape is in my future.

I have FA Fuji Apple, FA Pear, TFA Pomegranate, FW Blueberry, and FA Blue Raspberry coming ... I really hope I can make something out of that, that's worth vaping - if not, I'll probably end up giving it away to someone that wants to pay for the shipping.

I did, however, find a vanilla I'm almost happy with - TFA VBIC 0.5%, INW Shisha Vanilla 1%, TFA Vanillin 4%. It's vanilla-y and mild, but I think its missing something and it vapes "dry", if that makes sense ... maybe a cream or something will help it, but I have no experience using creams at all. I'm not sure what cream or milk I could use to make it "milky" or "creamy" without affecting the taste at all, or by a very small margin. The kind of cream I'm thinking of, is the cream you'd use in a coffee .. like a 6% or 10%, not a whipping cream type of cream .. or if there's a cream that will help bring the flavors together a little more and make them more pronounced .. god I hope that makes sense haha.

If anyone could recommend a good cream/milk or something else they might think would work, I would be eternally grateful! :)

Edit: Apparently some creams can help even out fruit flavors? Maybe a cream can fix my grape flavors? Would be interested on hearing opinions on this too!
Thats an extremely small percentage of VBIC as its not really a strong flavor anyway. If you are just trying to thicken it maybe a touch of meringue. Cap Vanilla custard would be a good addition but keep in mind creams will take time to come into there own

Creams are magical for adding body and smoothness to single fruit flavors. You need to know your creams in order to figure out what will work for what you are trying to achieve. Cream Fresh (Panna Fresca) (FA) is my go-to for adding body without diluting the fruit's flavor. For more smooth creaminess, you need a mix of creams. For your vanilla, you might try Creme Fresh (FA) at 1 to 1.5%, a sweet cream (I like VTA Sweet Cream but FLV would work, CAP Vanilla Whipped Cream would work, etc.) at 1 to 1.5%, Vienna Cream (FA) at 1 to 1.5%, Marshmallow at 1 to 1.5%, Shisha Vanilla (INW) at 1 to 1.5%, your favorite VBIC at 3 to 4% OR a better choice might be Vanilla Swirl (TFA) at 3 to 4%.

FA Fuji is a great flavor but, IMO, needs to be layered with other apples for the best results. Maybe FA Fuji at 2%, Cap Double Apple at 2%, INW Two Apples at 1%, Molinberry Shape Up Pear at 1% (my favorite Pear but FA Pear will work), and FA Cream Fresh at 1%. Turn that into an Icee with the addition of .5% WS-23.

MY final move was yesterday. I'm not leaving here for quite a while unless they hoist me out dead with a crane or something, @FranC . The husband is here to torture me, I mean do taxes. Then he will finish emptying the Sierra Vista apartment and go to Tucson to finish the house.

There is some unpacking to do, but I will likely do very little of that TODAY. Etc. However, I'm SO HAPPY to be here. It really is a nice place. Could stand to have a dishwasher, but eh. LOL.

I'm glad we moved yesterday I was thinking (yesterday) "If it were Sunday night right now I would off myself." Etc.

But, I have a couple days to adjust my schedule and I got up at five and it was/is horrible. But I really have little that I MUST do other than fixing a few vape setups. And yoga. That really does need to happen (yesterday was no Bueno) and Spanish. Etc.

@FranC how do you like the Flavorah Jammy Berry? Where did you buy yours? Yikes it’s $10.48 at BCF but $8.49 at Wizard & Gremlin. But of course Wizard doesn’t have the rest of what I want.

Isn't that always the way it is? One stop shopping just doesn't exist in DIY and how I wish it did. Chefs comes the closest to have everything I want, usually, but there is always that one flavor I can't do without that is only available from one or two places. :)

Of course FLV Jammy Berry is cheaper @ Chefs but the recipe was just released today & my order from Chefs is already here.

New recipe from one of the peeps on the Chefsflavours FB.

Dripping

Sounds yummy.

I saw this last night. He was not joking when he apologized for the shopping list. I purchased a couple of FLV flavors from CF as I found the prices to be good. I will live vicariously through your enjoyment.

@TylerA - You mentioned you have FW Blueberry coming. Do you have any other blueberries to layer with it? That is one of the mixing secrets with fruits - layering.

This recipe is from Dave, a very talented mixer. It is unusual for him to go this high on flavors but apparently it works in this recipe - rave reviews. You can see what he did here - layered berries in a smooth creamy base.

I’m really liking the graham cracker custard recipe. Thanks to whoever posted it. I’m going to try mixing some more later along with some lemondowski.

I posted the recipe and have mixed it several times — Graham Cracker Custard. I had to make a minor adjustment the second time because I did not have FW Graham Cracker and had to compensate for this.

For a straight up cream, I like FLV Cream and FA Fresh Cream. YMMV.

I love grape ejuice but like many other fruits you need to blend at least 2 together to get a fuller grape flavor. I also add a small amount of cactus.5 % to make it juicier since grape can taste dry. Watermelon and apple can also add some juiciness. I often add a raspberry to my grape recipes to boost the grape flavor at about 1.0%

A bit of marshmallow can add some mouthfeel or density since grape can be somewhat thin. 1%

As for creams probably any of the less flavored like FA Cream Fresh might smooth it out a bit. I haven’t used any creams in my grape recipes yet so I’ll defer to others.

Don’t give up. What recipes did you try you didn’t work for you?

Here’s a simple grape recipe you can try. You can substitute whatever grape you have for the grape soda if you don’t have it. Personally I would increase the Total Flavor % to 10% to start with.

Unless the husband was clever enough (I don't think he was) to forward our mail! Although OY, I bet you can do that online now, possibly! I'm pretty sure my chef's order will sit in our mailbox or like, freaking not fit with all the other stuff and get sent back or something.

I am definitely investigating misinformed delivery today.... Also I have a win coming via DHL that needs a signature... Sigh. I wonder what I can do about THAT, DHL is pretty with it. Will have to deal with my email and sundry such stuff today. LOL.

I did not know the husband was "coming here" for taxes. He is super NOT into delaying them and I do get it. Also, filing for an extension always puts you at a higher risk for being audited, and we get a little "creative" with our audits. I did not for example, keep a running log of my travel amounts, although I'm sure I COULD if I were to get audited, but they give you some time.

Also, including the sale of the house appears (even to me) to be a terrible idea. So, it is what it is.

Haven't sold it yet! Husband is (mostly) rehabbing it first. But yeah, that makes sense, really. It BETTER be sold this year.

Either way, the husband is NOT going to file an extension although I PERSONALLY feel getting rid of the other mortgage would be um, nice.

However, I don't even argue any more. I am a (legit) Real Estate Witch and my Real Estate Runes tell me that getting rid of the house should be task NUMERO UNO.

But, NO one has every listened to me on any real estate matter although I do get the satisfaction of like, saying "I told you so."

It's not like *I* can rehab the house, although if I coulda, I probably woulda that is how much I freaking Want to sell it. Sigh.

I found a 10ml taste sample bottle dated Feb. 24 for a Rhubarb & Custard that I like. It is a simple recipe that can be used as an inspiration. Not sure where I got the recipe — maybe from the UK DIY recipe forum.

0.5% INW Biscuit
3.0% INW Rhubarb
6.0% CAP Vanilla Custard
