FLV Melon Rind at 2% is not what I'd call a yummy taste but I wasn't expecting Melon Rind to taste particularly good. It has a bit of a bitter taste which is what I was looking for so I'm happy with it.
I've been pretty happy with using CAP cucumber for rind so haven't taken a look at melon rind; good to know it could be useful.

Good morning everyone! Hope you’re all having a good day.

I’m going to see if I can mix up one or two simple recipes and see how painful it’ll be for my thumb.

Speaking of simple recipes- I’ve spent a couple of hours during the past week deleting recipes that include more than 5 - 6 flavor concentrates.

For me I’ve decided Less is Best lol! Or Keep It Simple lol! Whatever mantra works.

I stopped making “complicated” mixes months ago anyways. I don’t know if it’s my primitive palate but I just can’t taste or appreciate mixes with “lots” of concentrates.

My favorite juices usually have 4 maybe 5 concentrates in them. So I’m just simplifying my recipe list and the backups I keep on my iPad and iCloud.

I’m always blown away when I see these published mixes with 10-12 even more flavors in them!! That’s great that the mixer can differentiate so many flavors but I can’t and I don’t have the patience either to make juice with that many flavors lol!!!

How do other mixers feel, think or never thought about recipes with so many flavors?

When I 1st started mixing I think I felt the more the better but that didn’t last long. Now I’ve been mixing for about 1.5 years and I’m really happy and satisfied with most of the juices I make that are less complex.
I wish I could hit the agree button 10 times.

Yes, it will be useful to tone down sweetness which is what I was looking for.

I always seem to over complicate things and then work on streamlining the recipe

There is a recipe on reddit that I tried in the beginning of my DIY efforts, the name of the recipe rhymed with Chitstorm.

    FW Butterscotch 2%

    FW Butterscotch Ripple 4%

    FLV Coconut 0.1%

    TFA Graham Cracker Clear 2.75%

    FLV Milk Chocolate 0.2%

    INW Shisha Vanilla 2.75%

    FLV Sweetness 1%

    CAP Vanilla Whipped Cream 1.5%

It's actually not that bad, very creamy. The issue I do have with it though is nothing is really discernible flavor wise. A little butterscotch maybe. My favorite recipes thus far only use 3-5 flavors, and my own recipes that are good to me usually have the same.

These are also used in many restaurants across the country to cultivate bacteria. It's not anything I've ever read about, so I can't prove it. It's simply a gut feeling I get after using one.

I really want to be able to pack away my stash of sft bottles without doing any more. I, therefore, have a favor to ask of you good folks. If I could get favor descriptions from 2-3 of you folks it would be great, along with sweetness level.I have just 2 flavors in question.TFA Dragon Fruit and TFA Black Honey

Should work well. I should do something like that with my working bottle too.

The easy-squeeze LDPE bottles with the twist-top caps below work great, too, IMO. Several places sell them in small quantities. I use the 240mL size for my working bottles of plain PG and VG. They're only $.75 each including the twist cap. Actually any sizes of them they have, are the same price. The twist-top caps are more secure, too, than the condiment bottle caps that have fewer threads. A friend had the cap come off of his during a mixing session...what a mess it was! ;)

Natural LDPE Boston Round Bottle with Twist Top Cap

If you'd prefer the condiment type though, which are smaller....Walmart carries the translucent, see-through ones, 2/bag for IIRC $1.98 or thereabouts. Those caps aren't as secure either though as the screw-on twist-top caps.

Thanks, JC.:) I was wondering how secure the twist tops were.

The ones I linked to above, have 1/2" of threading in the cap, so they're very secure. Also, because the LDPE used for the bottle is thicker, the threads on the bottle neck itself don't get mushy...to allow the cap to come loose. The twist up top part of the cap can also be adjusted to regulate the flow of the liquid. I've been using my same 2 bottles for almost 2 years now and have had no problems at all with them. Have 3 other local DIYers that I helped get started...using them now, too. No problems for them either.

I have them on my wishlist. When I get a minute I'll look for something to make a little better order of it:)
