Welp I am back recovering from my trip to AZ. Heh. I have now seen the entirety of AZ, pretty much. It was, well, it was what it was and like, I must say AZ consists of like 3 things: empty nothingness (there is a ton of that.) Then, ugly ugly ugly areas of total poverty (like 75% of all towns) and in addition, well, the pretty places we surely cannot afford.
The preselected land well, it was both bad and good. I mean it was pretty alright and nice views but it was pure clay and rock. I mean it looked like it would flood in a heartbeat non stop and while I'm sure a well would be dang CHEAP, you also don't want to build your home on THAT. Also no real zoning and too many people who are ALREADY doing what we would have to if like, it all went south: a shipping container and a trailer parked and a lot of like trash flotsam and jetsam.
I don't agree with the last part. If you are super poor, go minimalist, dude. You don't need to drive your decaying tractor on to your land, and just leave it rust even more. If it's worth anything (and I can see it's not) then SELL it or donate it for a tax write off .Some people who don't have much STUFF have to pollute the dang landscape.
We did see many pretty plots we probably could not afford. I think we'd have to get a real realtor for the area though there are a JILLION plots that are just posted "owner for sale" and like, there's no way to even look at some of them.
It's so far a drive! It really made me reconsider Dragoon AZ and closer spots like St. David. I suppose it would be fine but it takes FOREVER to look at land and we looked at jillions.
IDK I was thinking about work and if there is anything I can do. It sucks I keep getting messages from coworkers I actually like and I HATE it.
I gotta get an appt with my pdoc like soon, his ditzy secretary put a "way too soon " return to work FMLA date. so now I got to get a letter extending it.
I was considering it and I was like, "Anna what you got to lose?"
I don't think an appeal to the trustees would do a ton of good. However, I suppose I could send a complaint to the head dude. It seems odd to be sending one to him when he is part of my dang issue. However, he would probably UNDERSTAND it, if I sent it at least, and he knows me and whatever. I could explain my concerns and state my doc can't release me unless my work slate were wiped entirely clean and my director had to communicate anything to me in writing.
I mean, I doubt he cares that much but I have nothing to lose if I DO it. I think I should talk to m doc and sister about it, first, but I might. It made me sort of sad to return to Douglas and be "happy." I don't think it's a fair comparison really, since the motel I selected had one of the worst mattresses ever constructed, etc. But dang I was STILL happy to return to Douglas. My abode is all clean, coffee thermos doing its deal. It's kind of a "could not hurt" idea. But like, IDK, guess we will see. I mean, I am allowed to complain without retaliation so why not. My work condition is affecting my health, so I don 't see why not. Think I will get ignored but eh.
We were in flagrant disregard of a travel order and whatnot. To be fair, most people seemed to be. We saw the masked and gloved, we saw the normal like us. We talked to a pleasant UPS guy who was convinced (thoroughly) his who town had it in December and they have had 2 cases since then.
The only kind of scary part was like, driving through the Apache reservation-- they have no healthcare, they have chronic illnesses a-plenty and there was a quarantine (real) and police posted and signs that said, "

on't enter this area, illness is here." It made me feel really bad, I mean it sort of also made me wonder if the virus is the most fiendish of social engineering . I mean the frail elderly, the chronically ill all a burden of healthcare. Many will probably no longer be with us, not THAT many but perhaps enough to make a difference.
Also, Israel completed a study (I LOVE how Israel is SO on top of this virus) and compared "true" quarantine countries to half butted ones like the US, and discovered... a 0.01 difference or something due to the incubation period. I WISH we had enough antigen tests to test the entire US population and freaking get DONE with the thing. I can't wait for Israel's vaccine results they could be here for all I know. Off line and no radio even. The husband and I barely fought.
Even though the CDC says it's meaningless because "you could still be sick or contagious, " well, I cry foul. Because, first of all, you don't develop antigens until you have fought OFF enough of the virus,. You could also look at your last illness and see if it matched symptoms and MINE DID. So, eh. Also, if 70% or more like of the US HAS it we have herd immunity so BOOM. Etc.
In any case, yea, it made me fee like "Ooh Anna if you can't afford anything you might as well NOT afford it close to home. I mean sure, Show Low was nice enough on the whole.
Meeh.
