Morning, all.

Darn, Mr. Google says that bright thing we glimpsed yesterday was something called a "star." Some big hydrogen lamp thing.

Did get the grass cut, will attempt the weed whacking today. Before that hydrogen lamp goes away :)

    Somewhere between here and there
The HVAC guys showed up about an hour or so ago to replace my AC and furnace. I'm looking forward not only to the new system but also my wife no longer complaining about it not being cool enough in the house.

How long will the job take?

2 beds completed now and still no mixing done. Might get a 3rd bed done today after work. Looking like the weekend is the time for mixing. Before I do that, I need to take inventory to even know what I can mix. There's only so much I can do in one day, I need to clone myself to accomplish everything I need and want to. Pick and choose your battles and priorities I guess, and keep calm and carry on.

Did you know in some inner city neighborhoods, like Philly, where I visited my brother do not have AC? Like, had I known while visiting, I would have rented a dang hotel. I said to my brother, incredulously after the first night, "Do you really live like this?" He was like "You get used to it." He and his four roommates like, seemed more concerned about keeping the beer cold than anything else. My poor little son slept in the bathtub the first night. I "slept" on the floor. The second night the brother said he thought he had a portable A/C unit to which I replied, "OMG you have something like that and you are not using it?" So he brought up the fan that said, "Portable A/C" on it but that as like, the only freaking resemblance it bore to an A/C unit.

In any case we went to Hershey Park the first day man I must salute me for my driving capacities that trip and the kid got one of those gigantic 1 lb bars of Chocolate and he felt it should be in the fridge, only he was worried about the roommates. I suggested, perhaps he would like to you know, share, but he was having none of that. Instead he wrote a note, and he taped it to the chocolate. It read: "This is MY one pound bar of chocolate and it belongs ONLY to me. Do not touch it, or eat it. I WILL KNOW. I have my ways of finding out." I was like, "KID! All they want is the beer, you have nothing to worry about."

Oh they also did not care for coffee they had one half bag that was labeled pumpkin spice. That was a bad morning..

So yes, in America there are still people living like savages.. Dude. I don't mind daytime heat but like, at night if it's not cold I lose my mind. I ALSO went for Reiki one time and this guy was living in an apartment with NO UTILITIES at all. I asked him how he managed. That was a mistake. I did not go back for more Reiki lemme put it that way.

Yep. I'm just glad I did not get canibalized

To do: schedule test for antibodies in SV. I really do want to see my kid. Go to Walmart. Do yoga. Cope with my free floating anxiety alone as the husband is going to Tucson for a couple days. I guess it may involve boxes or other crap.

Here in northern MI by the lake, I need AC like maybe 1 week out of the year. Having my windows, skylights, and an occasional fan going is sufficient. But having heat is an absolute necessity for seemingly 9 out of 12 months . Having AC down in Texas is an absolute necessity, and heat you might use 1 week out of the year.

Right. Which is why I get so mad at all the EU countries going, "America has such a giant carbon footprint look at all the A/C you use, we go without."

They never talk about their heating bills. Whatev's Poland, etc.

Here in Spain in the provinces in the interior it does get cold in the winter but the A/C is only used in big cities.
In small towns they normally use the old style stoves, some of them use pellets but depending on where you are located some use the shells of the almonds.

Back when we lived in the province of Albacete that is what we used, had an old school heater like this:

Just fill it up with these:

Which were very i mean very cheap, lot of almond trees in that province so the shells were almost given away for free.
That old school stove use to heat up the whole lower floor like crazy hot, sometimes we even had to crack a window up for bit hehe.

For summer it depends where you live,up north you don't need cold A/C,up down south yeah it's really hot but south east where i live if you can keep to windows open so the air circulates a bit you don't really need A/C.
