I've noticed something. I come on this thread and see someone asking a question, so I answer it. Then I go back and see 13 other people already answered the question so my answer drops in out of nowhere after everyone has forgotten about the topic. It must take real dedication to keep up with this thread. I also check the BB thread but that one is slow enough for my occasional visits.

My flavor order is due today. All refill orders, nothing exciting. I do have a recipe ready to post here when I get around to it.

I never even got a notification that the order was received. But, when I checked the order on the website, it said "complete" a couple days after it was ordered, and that's still what it says. A couple days later they added a tracking number, though, and I'm able to keep up that way.

Also, when I tracked it on the PackageRadar site, it said a USPS shipping label was created on Sept. 10, so I assume all is well, and it is slowly creeping my way.
My shipping label was created on the 10th also. Be interesting to see who gets their order first.

I am glad you asked! They are getting big and beautiful, one in particular is exhibiting something known as the flowerback gene, so I am SUPER excited. The father of this one was hatched by a friend in California and all of it's clutch mates exhibited the flowerback gene and he (the father of my babies) did not show it. But judging by the hatchling below, he definitely has it.

If you look closely between each section of shell (called scutes) you can see yellow streaks starting to radiate. It's pretty rare, especially in what I am producing. Eventually this shell may become totally yellow while maintaining the concentric markings.

Apologies for being tedious.. lol It's just something that blows me away.. lol
Wow, that turtle is so incredibly mesmerizing and beautiful. Do you ever name them? I.e. Donatello, Michaelangelo, etc.? :D

He is stunning! Please post followup pics as he changes towards his adult colors. I can’t wait to see what he looks like then, but the changes along the way will be interesting to see! My box babies were never that magical looking (or even vaguely rare, unlike yours). They all come out like little mud brown quarters. Colors came later.

My last China order did the same. Maybe they’re shipping containers of packages to the US where they get picked up by a “shipping partner” here. I had one with an American type name that shipped from Bessemer, Al (that’s a suburb of Birmingham sort of).

@JCinFLA had an explanation for that--don't make me look for it now. But yes, they are using middlemen.

Mine looked like it was shipped by a person in Bessemer. That’s what made me wonder if he got a load of packages from China, then shipped them each from the US location
Weird. My shipping won't update till my pkg reaches it's label destination in NJ. At that point it gets handed to USPS.

You're coming down the back stretch, and I can't even find my horse. You're gonna win. :thumb:
IDK, you might just slip by me. I just got the notice that my pkg cleared customs on 9/12 which is 4 days ago. So who knows where it actually is.

You're never tedious. I love learning about those beautiful creatures--and I admire your passion!

    Awe, thank you...:)

Thank you sir! I do, every single one has a name. I have a total of 18 of them, ranging in age between 27 years to the ones I held for myself from babies hatched this year. My first one I got I named Marley, so when I started getting more I decided to name them off of associations to Bob Marley. Luckily he had a lot of kids, so I have a Ziggy, Rohan, Junior, Rita, etc.. I've recently had to move over to gems, like Sapphire (for her blue skin) and Ruby (for her pink head). I have a Facebook Page dedicated to them and it can be viewed easily because it's not private. If anyone is interested it's DBTMarley Terrapins. No friend request required.

Thanks so much. I will. He's about 4 months old now. I am hoping some of the others I held back do the same.... I have one that has the most incredible markings.
