I can't believe it but my credit card got hit again. I have made very few online purchases since the last time it got it. I mostly use it for bill pay and have been trying to do most ecig transactions with paypal.
Sorry Hitt. From all I've read and heard about cc fraud and hacking, it's complicated and rarely has anything to do with with your recent purchases. Those crooks get hold of your cc number in all kinds of ways and often wait for a long time before actually using it. Sometimes they will make a small "test" purchase just to see how it goes--usually a $1-5 so it won't raise any suspicions. Anyway, the only way to protect yourself is to check your statements often and flag anything that looks unfamiliar right away.
Unless your card is physically stolen, of course--then they go for it and start shopping right away before you notice that your card is gone.
