My dad raised me on a lot of older country like Merle and Willie, as well as guys like Ray Charles. And my mother introduced me to a lot of 1960s and 70s music like James Taylor and Elton John. I would say I still listen to more of that kind of music than any others. Although I do like a wide variety of musical artists.
Most of my loves are 60s to 70's but not all. I like Merle also

    Somewhere between here and there
I just turned 50 last month. I don’t think of myself as old. Sure I have a few new aches and pains and can’t run as far as I used to. My new neighbor couldn’t believe I was 50. I think he’s 25. Nice guy to talk to. Seems like a little bit of an old soul.

I liked Merle Haggard (Big City was my first country album), Waylon Jennings and Hank Jr. - I saw Hank Jr 5 times in concert way back in the 80's. Now it's rock - Tool, Metallica, Volbeat, Disturbed and the like. I even like some Marilyn Manson:

I like Disturbed, Linkin Park and can even get down with some Rob Zombie if the mood is right

    You a BDP fan, @Skeebo?

Yaas! His earliest stuff was heavy on the dancehall style of reggae that I grew up with and I became a big fan then... My favorite rappers are Mos Def and Method Man but I like most of the earlier rappers... I even listen to Tekashi 69.

I really like Volbeat. They have a very unique sound. And Metallica is my all time favorite band, since I was about 12 years old. They were basically my introduction to harder and heavier music.

Think I got my cloudy Lemon Cake mix figured out.

I made some this morning with just PG and LC. Clear as glass once the bubbles went away. Then I added some VG. It was still clear. Then I added some more LC and it turned cloudy. I did that to test out the theory @JCinFLA posted about adding the VG last. Looks like that is the explanation for the cloudiness.

Still not sure why my blueberry LC wasn't cloudy. I normally put the base in the bottle first then add the flavors. But maybe I did it the other way round that time. Maybe the blueberry flavoring has enough PG in it to stabilize the lemon. It doesn't bother me any more though now I know what causes the cloudiness. I was worried I had a bad bottle of flavoring or a dodgy batch of base. Maybe I'll try some more small bottles. Put the LC in the bottle first and add base. Or make an extra bottle of base with just PG and nic for making recipes with LC. Then I can mix the base and flavorings and add the VG on top.

I love the Red Hot Chili Peppers, some of their stuff is great. Some of the studio versions of American Idiot.

My favorite VOICE although perhaps not most talented Rapper is Lil Wayne. He got in trouble for being too experimental IIRC. That redo song he does with Eminem is like, great. I can't ah, post it for many reasons. But to me, he should be the voice of God, not that Penguin guy lets face it. God, especially the old T god has a LOT of dark in him.

I LOVE telling like, my son that RHCP were the white fathers of rap. He turns red and flame shoot out of his ears, like, um, then I say, "You want it to be Vanilla ICE?" LOL.

I will say, they did an analysis of top most "uses the most diverse words in music and Eminem came out like REALLY high, like 1 or 2. He has full access to creative swearing PLUS he is crazy smart. I always wanted to therapize him, after asking "Okay, you wanna be sane, or you want talent? Because it is one or the other...." Then if he said, "Talent" I would take him to my back room and.....

IDK. I don't think it's the white kid rapper mystique either, it has something to do with like uh, he so perfectly appropriately/inappropriately expresses the events that occur when you are dirt poor, crazy smart, horrifically traumatized, and uh, CRAZY SMART. And a mess. The way that guy uses words..... Like he was writing this apology song to his mom and it began like so appropriately and ended up with him saying, "But if it was me and someone ever took my KIDS from ME, I'd find them on the map and go off the edge of the Atlas to find em, and go dow the chimeny dressed as Santa... KIDNAP EM." My little brother was laughing his .... off in my car, and saying "Oh Eminem.... valiant effort." Etc.

LOL Me and my bro both are obsessed with Kanye West and you should be. IMHO.

To me, I think MC Hammer was just like the Burnette unappreciated Paula Abdul, I mean, she could not sing, she could not dance (Madonna) but she was every 80s dream because she popped bubble gum correctly.

There are the unabashed greats, the brilliant, the unbelievably good, like Queen, Bowie, Zappa SO NOT THE BEATLES I AM SORRY but so many musicians don't get found really ever, and it can be fun going down the bunny trail. I am always happy when I find a Youtube video I enjoy with 12k hits.

In Philly, I always used to go to live music mainly because my roommate did. And there are some BRIILLIANT artists just RUINED by their producers, the unknow the etc.

I don't care about original, brilliance and whatever ELSE dude.

I care about if I love something. I love me some weird stuff. The only classical I EVER want to listen to any more is the Khachaturian violin concerto because it was not typical. I was happy when I could play it competently but such is not the case any longer..... Otherwise, NO MORE. LOL I have sat through way too many Kennedy Center orchestral performances with my mom. One time I had a BLADDER infection. You talk about your hells on earth... Sigh.

I'm exhausted man I can't keep up with NUTHIN although I do plan on watching my October Surprise shortly and to hell w/it. It will be what it is.

I have been waiting and tomorrow is JEANS day. Golly I hope our realter is not all over us like a shark, dude. Check goes in tomorrow.....

My husband took my car to be serviced and like he insulted me by telling me that falling asleep ah the wheel episode (I really did it sucked...driving back to Douglas one fine time.) was all this money and he had to pay to get it fixed and I wanted to say,. "Didja get a warranty like you did NOT do after paying the guys you payed 3k to KILL your Subaru?"

Only then he DID manage to drain my battery somehow, he did SOMETHING no clue what, probably left his phone charging with music for hours. Then told me he drove 110 miles an hour to get back.

I did not worry about HIM he is indestructible I was like WHY ARE YOU KILLING MY CAR NOW? I HATE YOU. YOU don't drive cars how they WANT to be driven!!!!!!! My car was so easy because I was not driving so fast the airbags did not deploy.

I hate him driving I WINCE every time he gets in it. It's the worst. I might just buy my own SUVV and GIVE him my car NOW because it is an all or nothing clutch and like, it still has road miles on it from my rehabbing it.

Yeah but then he'd kill it in about a year, he needs an old truck he can work on himself. No one can fix that Subaru I mean they don't make the parts anymore...

I really like Butterscotch Ripple a lot. Hazelnut FW is a versatile flavor and if used at 1% or lower in a mix strangely adds a creaminess without the Hazelnut coming through.. Toasted Almond because it was on clearance at River Supply. All the ice creams because I use them a lot in various mixes. Cookie FA adds body to a mix and I like the flavor, which is the same reason I like Cookie Dough... I also have to add that those are probably the flavors I am most familiar with at the moment.. I have a lot of 2oz bottles that if I don't grow tired of them I may order in 4oz bottles in the future. Butterscotch Ripple won't last long, but the rest will probably last me a year or two.
I love (FW) Hazelnut... rich and creamy. Have been using Cookie for a long time (recently fell in love with Croissant... might actually try using both just out of curiosity) Very curious about Cookie dough... can you describe it (or at least how it compares to Cookie)?

It's hard for me to describe. However, since you have tried Cookie (FA I assume), think a wetter version of it. While I think it could be used to make a cookie recipe. I use it much like I use Biscuit INW, Sugar Cookie CAP, and Cookie FA, and that's mainly to build a little body and density to a mix. The difference I guess would be Cookie Dough brings a little more butter and brown sugar element, and well... it's wetter.
