I've been at my current job a little over 23 years. It's a small company of 12 employees so it has become more of a dysfunctional family with time. I work by myself a large portion of the day and have very little interaction with the owner who sits in an office that I can see from my desk but there is a wall with glass in between me and the showroom and his office. Coworkers sometimes come in and out to get things or ask me questions but I'm alone a large portion of the day and really kind of like it.
I've had situations like that where I work, but not currently. I work at a glass decorating production facility, do a lot of printing on glass and ceramics for bars and restaurants across the US. At our height we had over 300 people total working on 3 shifts 6-7 days a week.
I started as basic labor but have done many jobs over time and had a few different job titles there. Multi-color printing press operator and Quality Control Auditor/Tech are the notable ones. The QC was the best, I had a laboratory! It was really just a large office where we do a few things to test our products, but hey

I spent a lot of time working the night shift in the office.
Currently we are down to less than 50 people on a morning shift and 14 on a 2nd shift, and every day I do at least 3 of my previous job titles, labor, machine setup and operation, and qc still.
We have less than one third of the personnel we did 5 years ago, but still put out nearly the same amount of orders, it's phenomenal. Our goal is 50,000 glasses a day between 2 shifts.
