The worse part of the colonoscopy is drinking that "stuff".
They had to remove 12 inches of my colon in 2003, docs told me if I had waited another year before getting the test, it would have been too late.

I was hoping you were going to say you were wrapping my Xmas present.

I haven't had a colonoscopy yet but I probably will before long.

The worse part of the colonoscopy is drinking that "stuff".

First 1 I ever had...my doctor told me to go get the Rx Prep Kit for it. Had to drink a 20mL bottle of the really putrid citrusy stuff and then a quart of "that other stuff" every 1/2 hour until all 4 quarts were gone. Thought I was going to spew it everywhere while trying to down the 4th quart.

Each time I've had 1 since then...I've bought and taken the OTC stuff my new doctor told me to get (Miralax, a couple of tiny pills, and only 1 quart of "stuff" that was cherry flavored). It's MUCH better and was a piece of cake compared to using that Prep Kit!

If you are over 50, you should get it done.

I just turned 50 a couple months ago. I'll probably have it done next year. I'm a little surprised that my wife's doctor hasn't suggested it to her since she's 53.

Good morning :) looks like I'm behind 360 posts.. oh well, hope you are all well. We're headed out to our nets, and winter is rearing its ugly(or beautiful?) head. So you want to be a fisherman, eh? Winter fishing on the Great lakes is a whole new ball game.

My practitioner didn't even mentioned one, even though I'm 57 and my dad died this year of colon cancer. She just went with the stool occult blood test. If she doesn't bring it up next year, when I'm due for one, I'm going to have to ask.

If I were you...I wouldn't rely on those stool occult blood tests, especially with colon cancer in your family. 2 of my friends had those tests come back as "nothing suspicious". Each one found out 5-8 months later, after experiencing "intestinal problems" for a couple weeks, and having colonoscopies, that those tests weren't reliable at all. Thankfully for both of them...surgery was done and so far they're both doing well.

Is that a lot of snow for your area? I just assumed you folks had snow pretty regular in the winter.
It’s a decent size storm. Last year we didn’t get half the snow we usually do.

Off topic, but thought I'd post about a "will wonders never cease" thing.

I mailed 2 Large Flat Rate Priority Mail boxes to an ECF member in Wyoming...Saturday afternoon. The receipt showed Expected Delivery Day was tomorrow. So we were both thinking she might be lucky to get them Friday or Saturday. But...they're both actually "out for delivery" TODAY, as of 7:10AM!!

That's awesome. It's always a nice surprise when packages get delivered early.
