I got home from work yesterday and there was a large package by the door from my sister. We usually send for each other’s kids. We opened it and saw she had gotten something for all of us. I felt bad because my wife and I had totally forgotten to send for the kids. I called my sister in Ohio and told her to tell the kids that their evil uncle forgot and that I would get cards into the mail for them. We just usually send cash.
So does himself. Hopefully it actually means “off at noon”. Princess #2 and the SIL are busy wrapping all the presents they had shipped here. I’m SUPER busy avoiding doing anything constructive. Currently I’m crushing it!!

Yesterday, I spent the day at the farm in a deer stand. I love the peace and quiet that comes while sitting there. No, I didn't see or hear anything other than birds, squirrels, and nature at it's finest. It was a joy watching the pair of eagles circle overhead. My phone was on vibrate and it went off in my pocket. The Ring app notified me there was someone detected at my front door. I opened it and wouldn't ya know it, FedEx had dropped off a package. Here I am an hour+ away and a bright yellow package is sitting on my porch. I live on a very busy street and there has been a rash of porch pirates roaming the neighborhood. Luckily, I have the phone number of a few of my neighbors. Unfortunately, the numbers I have are landline numbers and not cellphone numbers and no one was answering their landlines. I have a new neighbor and I had her cellphone number. I sent her a text and luckily she was home. She went over and got the package and put it in the bed of my daughter's pickup. Not long ago that would not have been an option and my gift to myself would have been in some dweebs possession. Technology, I love it. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas Eve. Stay safe and well.

The Ring app allows the sharing of videos among people in our neighborhood to share videos caught on the Ring cameras. Another app, Nextdoor, is a neighborhood app and it is for neighbors to chat and share what is going on. Both are great at letting folks know what is happening around them.
I'm glad there are no porch pirates here (yet). Once I was out of town when a couple of packages were delivered. They were still there upon my return.
