They've already shut down schools on Monday, I49, I220 and portions of I20 will close by sunset. Since we live with "mother nature puts it down, mother nature has to take it away" maintenance, it will be late in the week before things are open again. :)
I’m sorry, but I get it. We’re just not “built” for wintry weather down here. We had a snow flurry during the school day one year. Our principal at the time was from St Louis, and was flabbergasted at the girls leaving class en masse, without permission, to run out into the courtyard to catch snowflakes on their tongues and see it wafting down. I pointed out to him that most of them had never seen snow in person. No snow accumulation, but the icy roads caused havoc.

Something you might consider... I watched a video and they came up with a novel recipe. It's a pecan pudding pie. I might try that one myself:

I love the way one of them declares authoritatively that there is no pudding in banana cream pie, that it's the banana that gives a puddingy texture, and that the bananas are mixed with whipped cream. He then nods his head approvingly when another guy says it's made with pudding mixed with whipped cream. Meanwhile, banana cream pie traditionally consists of sliced bananas layered into a blind-baked pie shell and topped with vanilla pudding and, if wanted, more bananas. Some finish with whipped cream.

These guys know nothing about baking.

We moved to Abilene, Tx from South Tx in January of my daughter's first grade year. One day it started snowing and my daughter got out of line to go look at the snow falling, and she got in trouble. She had never seen snow before.

Good evening mixers. I went with the wife to Academy Sports so she could get some more tank tops she likes for wearing under other shirts and found they had some really good sales. I picked up a north face 1/4 zip that was 40% off. We stopped on the way home and looked at a couple model homes in new developments. I really loved the first one we looked at. It was huge and gorgeous inside with a full wet bar on the lower level. I told my wife if we could afford it that I’d move tomorrow. There’s no way though. It was 540k. Too rich for my blood. Even if we got asking price from ours then I’d still have a house payment for a very long time.

Way too much for any house. IMO

I guess snow would be pretty amazing to someone whos never seen it. In these parts it's bah humbug.
I laugh at my friends who are overseas and barely ever see temps at freezing or below levels...they always like I love snow and yadda yadda....I'm all like sure come tell me that when it's up to your crotch and -20f (-28c) and you gotta dig your car out from the snow and chip away 3" of ice from the windshield, just remember how much you said you loved snow

I could definitely do without snow. It wouldn’t bother me at all.

I never did get around to trying any new mixes today but that seems to be par for the course for me. I always think I’m going to get this or that done on the weekends but rarely follow through. Oh well, there’s always another day.

I haven’t tried my new mix either. I do have a good excuse though, my tank isn’t empty yet.

I think I mentioned before that my daughter and her boyfriend are in Colorado on a trip and yesterday when I balanced my checkbook, there was a $150 charge for this Chegg study service that my daughter has used before. I’m getting a little mad since I asked her yesterday to either check on it or give me the log in information so I could and she hasn’t responded to my texts.

You need a little tough love. I know you won’t, but you should cut her off.

I swear kids man...I had to remove my bank account from my daughters paypal because I kept getting charged for her spotify and some other apps, I repeatedly told her that I wouldn't be paying for them...but several months I got hit with the charges....I mean it's not $150 worth, ug I'd be po'ed...
but still...not happening kid, you can use free services or download songs to your phone...or use your own money....she doesn't have a job but she sells her art online to get some cash.

Another favorite car I had was a 2008 silver PT Cruiser convertible that we called Windy. I kinda had to buy it because when I was test driving it, my daughter was in the back seat the whole time yelling, "Buy it! Buy it!" I think the sales lady paid her off or something.View attachment 925477
When I was working, any time I traveled I got a PT Cruiser. I'm 6' 2+ and I liked the seat height. I hate when I get in a car and it feels like I'm driving a go-cart.

muscle relaxers + nerve pain meds + gout meds = stoned/drunk and then coming down/hungover the next day
Yep, I know the feeling, it's the same mixture for my daily routine.

My DIL hadn't seen snow until they were married for about 5 years. They visited my Son's side of the family. She had never been out of the state of Texas until they came to visit us in SE Texas.

I’m very close. Trust me. After having to retake a class because she didn’t do the required work, pretty much being a ghost since she’s been home not spending hardly any time with my wife and myself, and now this, I’ve about had it. She’s out running around with her boyfriend and been doing a crap job handling her responsibilities. I finally got a response from her and let her know I’m angry.

I left out a part. The $150 charge is for a book that she forgot to return that was a rental. I went outside and found it in the back of her car under a pile of clothes.

There honestly comes a time when you have to stop doing everything for a child because the more you do the more they expect. They need to learn how to deal with life for their own good.
