    Somewhere between here and there
We just did the same over the weekend. It was way easier than I expected. The kids all cut the cable cord several years back and kept trying to talk us into it. The last cable bill with yet another increase was enough for us.

I hope I get brave enough to cut the cord some day. Not sure my wife would ever agree to it.

I don’t have regular tv. I have a smart tv I bought when I came here. I mostly watch movies or series from Amazon and Netflix. I know there’s other stuff I can get but I’ve been happy with that. Using my DVD tonight and watching Chicago Fire.

I unfortunately cannot cut the cord anymore. Since HuluTV, SlingTV, and Youtube TV no long have Fox Sports Midwest, I need cable to watch my baseball.

I am free from sports cause I haven’t watched in years.

We did it a year ago. The one thing I really miss is the ATT Channel Guide. The Sling version is junk by comparison, and the others I've tried. With ATT if you wanted to see a movie or show you could search for it and if it was up on any channel in the next month it would display and you could set it to record. It gave a decent description of programs with actors and so forth. Sling just took away the previous channel button, to stop you switching during commercials I assume. That's not all.

But then there was the ATT monthly bill.

Well I just took my BP and it's 166/101. This is after sleeping.

Oh I agree but this was the hospital that let me go - the ER got me admitted. The doctor, a total quack in my opinion, seemed satisfied that my creatine went from 2.5 to whatever it went down to, ignoring the fact that my BP was very high. The nurse was not happy to let me go and said "If it continues come back".

I cannot take aspirin of any kind.
We're all pulling for you. So, keep your chin up, it'll get resolved.

I was dead set against it. That’s why we didn’t officially cancel cable yet. The equipment is disconnected, but I wanted to make sure going streaming wasn’t a huge mistake. But, Hulu Live gave us everything we had on cable for a third of the price. The first day was a little frustrating figuring out how to get to where I wanted, but now easy peasy. YouTube TV had lots of sports but not A&E/History/Travel channels which we watch a lot.

When you're ready, there's good groups on FB that really help people out. Plenty of utube videos for setting up firesticks and such.

We just cut the cord a couple years ago ourselves. Much much more to watch, for us. Wife enjoys hulu and roku, my boy and I use free pirate apps.

I got an appt with my doctor Thursday and a cardiologist Friday but I don't know if I can make it that long, may have to go back to a different hospital before then. Running 170/100 no matter what I do.
If you go back to the ER, tell them you have an appointment with your cardiologist on Friday, but you’re having chest pain along with the high BP. They’ll be more likely to keep you there. It’s a huge liability to send someone getting ready to have a heart attack out the door.

What do you know about Philos? I can get my mom local channels over an antenna. Then Philos is just the entertainment and lifestyle channels which is all she watches. It’s $20 something a month.

Your BP is very high. I know we don't know your medical history but in my line of work we wouldn't let a patient maintain a high blood pressure like that. I do hope you find some decent medical assistance somewhere DL.

Exactly! My nurse practitioner told me once - sometimes a small fib is in order- in order to obtain the medical procedures/labs and diagnosis of symptoms. Remember I told my mom to fib so they would find out why her blood pressure was high! They did after I told her what to say in the ER. Her blood pressure was in the 200's over 100s numerous times in ER. I was desperate to help her.
