nude 2nd batch.jpeg Nude nicotine came through like a champ with a better batch.
The new stuff on the right. I am bottling all the old to hand out to friends (and daughter) who have dabbled in DIY but always came to me for the nicotine. Now they will have their own and not bother my stash.

Seeing the labels, I had to buy another label maker not long ago. You would think label makers should last more than 15 years. When I first started DIY, I tried using handwritten labels using old sticky-backed disc labels I had laying around. It really got to be a pain removing them when I washed out the bottles. The label maker came with a clear ribbon and I used it to label the ejuice bottles. As far as I'm concerned clear tape on a clear bottle is not a good idea. I replaced it with a white ribbon and I will be replacing the clear labels on the ejuice bottles.

I do it too when I am using my tablet, however, I usually discover my mistake before I "send" the reply. I won't attempt to try doing any replying on my phone. My fat fingers and the tiny phone keyboard do not go together. I have a hard enough time doing text messages.

I don't have anything planned for today, well, other than relabeling my ejuice bottles with white labels. I'm enjoying my coffee and the movie "The Book of Eli". Later, I may see if I can find another book to read. I've got a good selection loaded on my tablet. Sitting outside reading a good book and letting my dog roam around sounds like a good plan.

I hope everyone has a good day. Stay safe and well.
I've had the same label maker for about 11 years. White labels always.

It must be warmer there if you're going to sit out and read. Can't wait for it to get that warm here so I can sit out.

They had a good solid reason why some 'not so great' came to me. I believe them and the main thing is they made it right.

Sorry, when you said "I certainly did" I thought you were referring to something entirely different. I apologize for taking the convo completely south. One of my ill-fated tendencies... lol

Personally I would not be the least bit apprehensive about using the one on the left.

I love my label maker and labels. They peel right off leaving no sticky residue. I just now replaced my label cartridge after many labels so they last a long time. The only minor complaint I have with mine is since it keeps up with date and time (which I never use) the batteries drain fast. But I use rechargeable batteries and it’s no big deal.

You must have missed the part where it says to steep at least 10 days. I know you are a shaker vaper.. unfortunately most of the ingredients in that recipe won't be a win off the shake, sorry.
I didn’t miss it. I use a warm bath to steep my mixes. They also sit for weeks in the cabinet and my taste buds can tell no discernible difference after time (freshly mixed to weeks later and all points in between). I think the warm bath works great for me, and it helps to thin the max vg for shaking. Everyone is different I suppose. My ex boyfriend used to have a fancy heated ultrasonic cleaner that worked great too. I really want one, but the stove is free sooo...:)

Phew. I thought I'd shoved both of my rather large feet in my mouth with that joke.

 18 mg is 12 times my nic level of 1.5 mg. Not worth it to me. :)
Oh, that's right. I had forgotten how little nicotine you use in your mixes. Mixing eleven times the amount of the 18mg batch would be kind of ridiculous, I suppose.

Yeah I would never expect that Heather and Adam at HHV would give away their secrets. But people have tried to clone their recipes. I found this one with a quick search, but there may be others. I have not tried it so I'm just sharing the recipe.

    hi Rj,

thanks for that! I saw this recipe and I am not sure it’s for Gandalf from HHV. I assumed that around the time there must have been another vendor selling a juice with the same name. The list of ingredients doesn’t look quite right.

I found an old ECF post where the core discussion was of cloning Gandalf and I think Boomerdude (Terrence) and another operator would have come close. They recommended tobacco express concentrates. I am not sure the TFA tobaccos in this linked recipe are going to cut it. Boomer’s Gandalf is also listed on ECR .

some people have said that the tobacco express concentrates and their equivalent super concentrates from Vaping Zone are the ideal tobaccos to use.

I am also not sure about black honey and apricot in this recipe. I don’t ever remember apricot being in the flavor profile. I might give it a go though !
    Thanks for this.

    Hello Anthony..

There has been some discussion about HHV and whether they were using tobacco absolute in their NET's as opposed to a cold or heated macerated tobacco. I think you hit the nail on the head with your comment in regards to the hard part being getting the right "other" flavors though. Example: "Shadow" to this day remains one of the best vanilla flavors I have ever tasted.

Oddly, just before you came and checked out this thread, I brought up how Pirate's Booty came across more tea like when fresh, then evolved into sort of a spicy cigar flavor over time. A couple of folks here were saying black tea FA reminded them of tobacco.

Perhaps, and I only say this as it being a shot in the dark, finding out which flavors were available at the time HHV released their NET's may get you closer . There are a lot more flavors that have come on the market since.. I've often wondered if Shadow had a percentage of French vanilla deluxe TFA, vanilla bean ice cream TFA, and vanilla swirl TFA... I have found during my time mixing that those flavors have similar elements I tasted in Shadow.

Needless to say, it's going to be virtually impossible to get something exact. I have tried many cloned recipes since I began doing DIY and they have all (with the exception of two) fallen short of being like the original.

Good post! Great insights. I have been reading some comments in the reviews to get ideas and ironically, our old Net Tobacco thread circa 2013-2014 contains very good flavour descriptions and commentary into the composition of the tobacco backbone of HHV.

In my perusal of the web I have drawn a theory that HHv is using some super concentrate (rebranded as tobacco express at Flavor Jungle and also at Vaping Zone) tobacco absolute.

I’ve read comments that French Pipe is very close to Shadow so it’s possible HHv is using that French pipe and topping it and smoothing it with some vanilla and maybe EM. Sweetener must be in all of their juices. I think it’s a key component to their sweet blends. Shadow would be easier to replicate IMO than both old Gandalf and Booty. I think Shadow is more or less the same as it was several years ago.

Captain by TE (also old captain by VZ) might be a good start. I am going to give that a go.

The two were a Pistacio RY4 and a Cannoli Be One clone. The creator of CBO even posted in the group that the CBO clone was almost spot on with the ingredients and percentages.

that was a fascinating replication. Such a difficult recipe and the owner commended the mixer who cloned it. DIYordie also followed tbe cloners recipe and confirmed it was the most accurate clone he had ever experienced.
