I have to say I agree with @JCinFLA, I don't post recipes often and I refrain from much comment about stuff here because my taste buds are hypersensitive or something, and most of the percentages I favor are different than many, or at least some...

No point in passing judgement, I figure i'm weird.. haha

on the note about posting recipes...they are more of a guideline....
so like ok here's what works for me, now personally I know I use higher % than most do, but they can also readjust the % to meet their needs, I just worked out the backbone of the flavors together....
so typically I shoot for 12% flavoring so anyone can take the recipe that I posted and then cut that in half for their preferred 6% total flavoring.

If I see a recipe that looks good to me here I will usually adjust to taste. There have been a very small amount I mixed as is.

I'm hoping it's an average of recommendations drawn from a variety of reliable sources. It would be great not to have to comb through AtF, ELR, Reddit, etc., every time I feel a need to try something solo.

When I started mixing I used all TFA flavors. There was a huge TFA thread going where a recommended % list of all their flavors was regularly posted and updated. I still have a copy of it saved somewhere. Not sure where it came from but it was very helpful to me early on. It wasn't always right for me, but it was good to have somewhere to start.

I agree with @JCinFLA . I usually leave this thread for awhile when it gets nasty. I think it is fine for anyone to post what they use, like or dislike even if they are new to mixing. We can all take it, leave it or adjust it.

And this is why I don't post many recipes on here. I will be working on doing a blog or something with MY experiences on sft's at some point. If anyone reads it, fine and if not, that is fine also.

I don't "get" something. So, I'll just say what I'm thinking.

Many people on here regularly post their recipes, with the flavoring % that "work" for them in that recipe. Some people ask others, when they're using a new-to-them flavoring...what % would they recommend starting with, or what % worked for them in an sft if they did one. Others will often say "oh, that would be way too high for me, I'd go with X% instead", or "I'd go higher on the (whatever flavoring)", etc. Everyone is fine with those statements, because we all know personal preferences and tastes vary greatly. There haven't been snide comments, jabs, etc. directed toward the person who originally posted the % they used that worked for them.

Vaper1960 has posted, several times, as he's ordered/gotten new flavorings...that he's doing sfts on each of them, so he'll know what % he'll use for them in his DIY recipes. So the sft % list he posted shows what has worked for him and his tastes.

"Master flavor list (with solo %) done. A lot of work but it's going to be so much easier mixing now."

"Wasn't going to post this but thought it might help someone (keep in mind these are SOLO %)."

It seemed clear, to me anyway, that the list he posted was his own findings, based on the sfts he did, and that it would make mixing, for him, much easier. Maybe it would even help some other people, too.

So, I don't understand, in this case anyway...why some of the posts about it have been made. It's honestly surprised me. :?:

Just giving back what I have always gotten in this thread. It's the reason I don't share recipes any more.
