I have not checked but suspect there are few threads bigger on ECF ..............there is your answer................oh and thank you for startin it ...............Sir Paw Paw ..........galant knight of the ECF realm..........![]()
Enough, I'm wearing New Balance, not hip waders![]()
You have oodles more oomph than I, my friend. I often only check ELR and AtF, and a single, comprehensive, reliable list sounds just dandy to me.I would certainly look to those before going with the 13th. At least those sites offer information from many many well known mixers with a crap ton of real life DIY experience.
ETA: besides combing thru them sites is part of the fun, imo
Yeah, I looked it over, and some of the percentages seemed iffy to me, too. Oh well.Don't know about that but one that really got my attention was Mascarpone at 2% which I'd never do.
I just wasn't sure whether it was a "this is what I like best" list or a "this is a consensus of what works best" list. The latter would be useful to me; the former, only if @vaper1960 and I have similar tastes, which I don't know. If it is a list of his preferences, good on him for making it and I envy his having such a useful tool.I don't "get" something. So, I'll just say what I'm thinking.
Many people on here regularly post their recipes, with the flavoring % that "work" for them in that recipe. Some people ask others, when they're using a new-to-them flavoring...what % would they recommend starting with, or what % worked for them in an sft if they did one. Others will often say "oh, that would be way too high for me, I'd go with X% instead", or "I'd go higher on the (whatever flavoring)", etc. Everyone is fine with those statements, because we all know personal preferences and tastes vary greatly. There haven't been snide comments, jabs, etc. directed toward the person who originally posted the % they used that worked for them.
Vaper1960 has posted, several times, as he's ordered/gotten new flavorings...that he's doing sfts on each of them, so he'll know what % he'll use for them in his DIY recipes. So the sft % list he posted shows what has worked for him and his tastes.
"Master flavor list (with solo %) done. A lot of work but it's going to be so much easier mixing now."
"Wasn't going to post this but thought it might help someone (keep in mind these are SOLO %)."
It seemed clear, to me anyway, that the list he posted was his own findings, based on the sfts he did, and that it would make mixing, for him, much easier. Maybe it would even help some other people, too.
So, I don't understand, in this case anyway...why some of the posts about it have been made. It's honestly surprised me.![]()
The big thing is one list does not fit all since most of us have very different tastes. Another thing is he’s a relatively new mixer and likes higher percentages, I know I did. Coming off vendor juice more of less requires high %.Yeah, I looked it over, and some of the percentages seemed iffy to me, too. Oh well.
Yes, and, boy oh boy, are you going to pay for it someday, buckeroo. Yes sirree, bob.Does this mean I am a bad person for starting an entire thread about recipes ?
I believe he said it was a list of sft %.I just wasn't sure whether it was a "this is what I like best" list or a "this is a consensus of what works best" list. The latter would be useful to me; the former, only if @vaper1960 and I have similar tastes, which I don't know. At one point, maybe shortly after Bill's Magic left I created a shareable Dropbox link for average mixing % used by each person that input theirs. There was a huge TFA thread going where a recommended % list of all their flavors was regularly posted and updated. I still have a copy of it saved somewhere. Not sure where it came from but it was very helpful to me early on. It wasn't always right for me, but it was good to have somewhere to start.
I know. I was just hoping for a shortcut, being a lazy bum and all.The big thing is one list does not fit all since most of us have very different tastes. Another thing is he’s a relatively new mixer and likes higher percentages, I know I did. Coming off vendor juice more of less requires high %.
Yes, but, again, I wasn't sure whether it was just what worked for him or whether it was distilled from a range of sources.I believe he said it was a list of sft %.
And the kind of hardware and watts used. The big thing is one list does not fit all since most of us have very different tastes. Another thing is he’s a relatively new mixer and likes higher percentages, I know I did. Coming off vendor juice more of less requires high %.
Don’t blame you. It’s helpful if you can find a mixer with similar tastes. I like some recipes by @uthinkofsomething. The detailed information from @ShowMeTwice is helpful also. There are others also.I know. I was just hoping for a shortcut, being a lazy bum and all.
I kinda doubt a wide range of sources use Mascarpone at 2%.Yes, but, again, I wasn't sure whether it was just what worked for him or whether it was distilled from a range of sources.
There should be an asterisk beside it. *Alcohol mutes the taste buds, your taste may vary.
Does this mean I am a bad person for starting an entire thread about recipes ?

YES!!!!! I love Brett’s nets also.Stop poking the bear.
Oh yes, you are bad because you started a thread that makes people buy new flavors to try the recipes there.
Actually I would say quite the opposite. You have been more than generous with me and others here sharing your wonderful NET extractions. If enabling makes someone bad then we are all evil.
