Serendipitous Sunday, stirfolk.

Low 80s yesterday, today and tomorrow, mid 80s for Tues, then back to high 70s. We'll take it, although rain would be good... for the whole western third of the country!

Too long on the weed whacker yesterday, but at least it's done for the moment. Hot and dry, at least it's all slowed way down, so probably good for a while. I hope!

Hm, at that price, two glasses, please!

Mixed some banana nut bread tonight. Several different mixes with different % and some with other flavors added.

Was planning to try out TFA Caramel Cappuccino. I've seen various comments about the amount to use, 1 or 2 drops per 10mls, 0.25% to 2%. I was going to make 10mls. Didn't want to go with drops because if I got to making larger bottles I wouldn't know what % to use. 0.5% in 10mls would be an amount smaller than I have any way to measure. In the end I gave up and decided to dilute some down, 1ml + 9ml of PG and it would be much easier. I'll do that tomorrow when I dig out a needle bottle to put it in.

When I was looking for hints on the amount to use I got on the BCF page. It had this

This product contains Acetoin: >=1% and <10%

This product contains Acetyl Propionyl: >=1% and <10%

All the other flavors I have with Acet whatever have been < 1%. Maybe that's OK since the flavor is going to be used close to 1/10th of the amount compared with other flavors. I don't worry much about those chemicals but the large % was a bit scary. The spread from 1% to 10% was a bit odd as well. Do they really not know by a factor of 10 how much is in there?

I’ve used that before and bought a 30ml bottle a long time ago which is a lifetime supply. If I remember correctly, I used three drops in a 30ml bottle.

Good morning mixers. I woke this morning a little later than usual. We went over to a friends house last night for dinner and stayed up past my bedtime. I felt really rough this morning almost like a hangover but didn’t touch a drop. Not sure why.

Plans so far are several cups of coffee and some cereal. Then I’ve got a tank or two to rebuild.

Good morning random folks :) Have you any plans today?
Good morning in here. Planning on working again this afternoon. Worked yesterday and had a weird day at work.

Spending a lot of time in the gardens. I'll take some photos of the progress thus far. I'm battling bugs (squash bug/squash borer/cucumber beetles) and a wood chuck. Seen a few Japanese beetles but I think they were scouts. I sent them to bug heaven. I have a trap for the wood chuck. He ate a lot of my squash leaves. I had water placed out in the garden but I suppose it wasn't good enough for this creature.

I'm hoping to mix this week.

I used to hate those squash vine borers, a moth that looks just like a wasp and really homes in on yous squash plants, I used to use BT or seven on them. All I have now is some tomatoes. The tomato hornworm though does become a beautiful moth. I hope to have some ripe tomatoes in a week or so, Tomato gravy is on the menu.

I had a few bad batches of nicotine (Nic River stuff) I use it against those borers. I figured out their patterns and I am able to just spray them when they are resting. I'm cautious of my local bee population. If I find that they have laid eggs in the squash-I just use a needle and squirt some nic into the stem. I was able to save my squash last year. My son planted to closely this year so I hope to save them. I just looked in the garden and some more zucchini leaves disappeared. I sprayed them with hot pepper juice last night. Obviously, this wood chuck is hungry. I need a apple to bait him with. I have a trap awaiting for sure.
