What are you random folks up to today?

It's a carb day. I haven't eaten anything yet. I'm about to make some cookies. I bought some burritos and hopefully I can taste them. If not, I have hot sauce.

I don't know about politics and health care insurance. I started out this year at 100.55. The around August they said I qualified and took it upon themselves to lower my premium to 13.55 a month. I signed up for 2022 and the same insurance is 175.00 (It also some change but forgot the exact amount). Same policy but increase of about 75.00. However, I wouldn't qualify for health insurance if I didn't go for the marketplace since I work PRN (as needed). No benefits. I'm grateful to have insurance (I don't want to burden the family) but it's a huge chunk when one is not working but 4-6 days max a month. I'm going to have to start a gardening business or something to supplement my income. :)

Not everything is based on which party you belong to though.

"A 2017 national poll by Public Policy Polling found that only 1% of Americans believed the Earth was flat, with an additional 6% saying they weren't sure. There was very little evidence of differences in this belief by political affiliation, with any differences between Trump voters, Clinton voters and third-party voters falling within the poll's margin of error of 3.2%."

for those that don't know...I have degenerative bone disorder/disease (among other issues but that's the major one at the moment)
    and I'm stuck in a catch 22
I need surgery done but I can't get the surgeries due to covid and I can't get the covid vaccine because I have several autoimmunity disorders and I got the 1st dose back in like june and it made me extremely sick, I knew it would (because the flushot makes me sicker than a dog for weeks), even told my doctor that it would but they insisted it was safe to get the shot....well....they refuse to give me the second dose because the 1st one made me so sick for so long putting my health at risk

so I spend most days heavily medicated, painkillers don't work on me so my doctor has me on 3 medications that just make me so loopy/tired/out of it that I don't care that I'm in so much pain
this past year the degeneration has progressed quite quickly and I'm really not mobile at all anymore
originally it was just both knees but now my back as well, which has always been a bit messed up due to have scoliosis as a kid...so yeah I spend most my days in lala land and unaware of time passing...I really do not know how it's december and that next week is christmas, I swear it was halloween just last week and the week before that it was summer....this entire year is just one giant blur
but enough about that, not much I can do but just one day at a time, some days are slightly better than others
it sucks being 40 and stuck in a body that thinks it's like 200 years old and mummified....
i really need to look into getting on to disability because yeah no income sucks, been stuck in my apt since covid started due to my autoimmune disorders, so for almost 2 years i've had no income, my job fired me but they said I quit so that they didn't have to pay unemployment, (if I quit then why was I applying for fmla and to the companies in house relief funds, or where was my 2 week letter? but it was a he said she said) I did get a little from the pandemic unemployment but my state shut that down a while back, they decided they didn't want the money or whatever...i mean it's a federal program so I don't understand why the state should care but um ok then...
anyways...so yeah it's been a year, well 2 years but this year has been just...ufff...things went downhill and progressed rather quickly...i'm not really mobile at all anymore. anyways enough about that...i'm still here, i'm still trying, one day at a time (even if I do lose track of what day it is or even what week it is)

If you do go for disability, get a disability attorney right from the start. That I believe is the key for not getting denied. It may seem like they aren't doing anything and you may only have dealings with a paralegal, but it worked for me. Whereas my BIL, whose disability was much more significant than mine, got denied at first.

    Heather's husband plays guitar. Heather's a GD.

I took some guitar lessons as an adult but really haven’t hardly touched my guitars this year. It’s a good stress reliever so I should really try to start practicing again. My wife couldn’t think of much of anything to get me for Xmas and asked if there was anything I wanted. I had seen this Fender mustang micro amp that plugs into a guitar and you plug headphones into it. She told me to order it so I did. My wife picked a few of her gifts but I have a few small ones that she doesn’t know about. I also always give her some cash so she can buy what she wants.

I can’t remember if I mentioned it but my youngest daughter is working as a cna while in college at a retirement home. She played violin from 4th grade to 12th and took private lessons. The home asked her to play for the residents before thanksgiving and she did. She was very good. It was nice to see that expensive instrument get put to good use.

I had a half sister that lived with us for awhile when I was really young. She took violin lessons and I still remember the racket. Hated violin for years.
