I do not believe there is a penalty that could qualify as cruel & unusual enough to be disqualified for people like that. The death of a thousand cuts is too kind for them.

He would have gotten the death penalty but they did a plea deal because they wanted to find more of his victims for the families. I would rather he get put to death but that is how the system works.
