I don’t care for one of the mixes in a Dvarw but hope it comes out of it. The only new flavor in it is the FA Vanilla Cookie. I think it was the first mix I used it in.
I like FA Cookie Vanilla. Flavour Art did an excellent job with it. One thing I've learned in the mixes I've used it in is that it seems to like a longer steep than most bakery flavors do.

How much longer? IMHO it does best with 6-8 weeks. Not that it's bad after 3-4 weeks. It isn't, it is good there too. But... it mellows out, or rather, it gels better with other flavors, with the additional time.

But... as with all flavors, YMMV. :D

Well,if it doesn’t straighten out by tomorrow it’s no biggie to wait. I have plenty mixed.

The cookie is starting to taste better thank goodness. It tasted pretty crappy to begin with. I’m just starting to pick up a wee bit of the other flavors. Just a matter of working in good to the coil. I guess some flavors are worse than others. Hopefully later today or tomorrow it will be good.

I had the same problem with my last run. SSA Cheesecake on Graham was the offending flavor that time. The following day it started tasting great. Hope that happens with the cookie too.
Most of the mixes I vape need some time before they settle in a new wick & coil, Rayon & SS.
I always feel that they pick up the next day.

I've had the same experience with some mixes.

I have a theory as to why this happens. We're heating up our tanks which does what to the juice in a tank? Heat warms up the juice in the tank. I suspect something happens chemically to the juice in a tank, changing it, as we apply heat via whatever wattage each person uses.

When I test a new mix I always install a new wick and sometimes a new coil. I don't think what we are experiencing has anything to do with wick or coil. My suspicion is it has everything to do with the heat applied to the juice in a tank.

Initially when we vape a new mix juice in the tank has not been heated up. That may give us the "crappy" taste we experience to begin with. As we vape the mix, the juice gets warmer and warmer. Something changes in the juice from the applied heat. The next day it tastes better.

And, the next day our sense of taste automatically adjusts to any changes brought on by changes in our juice from applied heat.

I'm probably nutty (I most certainly am :D) but that's my theory on why we are experiencing this.

    Thoughts???

    Ideas???

    Am I nuts???

Ok. Then maybe some flavors need longer steep times???

Or perhaps it's as simple as our sense of taste automatically adjusting itself to new flavor combos over a short period of time???

Or maybe it's our initial perceptions with a new mix and then the next day the learned taste firmly takes hold???

I mean, there has to be a reason why we experience this. Right???

IDK, :D, but it is interesting and thought provoking.

I think it has more to do with particular flavors. It’s been new flavors for me twice.

Well, there are those who use heat while steeping, so, imo, a definite maybe :)

I've not bothered with a new coil for a new mix, but cleaned and new wick, yes. (Also rayon) I don't think wick "saturation" has much, if any, to do with it. The wick is only there to get the liquid to the coil, and if it's not doing that, one knows right away!

So, maybe the heat does a number on some, but not all blends? That would be the "particular flavors" you mentioned, Fran.

One would think so but why doesn’t this happen to all flavors. Both flavors tasted crappy for me most of day one with a slight improvement on crappy by later in the day. Then, last time anyway, the mix became tasty on day two.

Maybe, it has to do with the specific chemical compounds used to create certain flavors versus other flavors.

A raspberry contains 200 chemicals that contribute to its flavor.

There are 350 chemicals that contribute to the flavor of a strawberry.

My gut comes back to heat with that.

    Our sense of taste adjusts???

IDK. No biggie. :D But it was fun trying to figure it out.
