Good morning. My oldest has to leave this morning and the youngest came home yesterday. She and the dog will be here for the week until her apartment is ready Saturday. It’s back for another week at work for me.
At least there’s no dog at work

Yes, I'm glad I'm not home all day all week with him. He needs a lot of exercise and I just don't have the energy levels he requires. My daughter needs to walk him this week since she still hasn't gotten her car back from the body shop and can't take him to a dog park.

    Morning, mixers.

They claim the heat wave is over. Uh huh, we'll see. Didn't cool down much last night, and we did set a new record yesterday, longest continuous stretch of 90+ temps.

Seeing as it’s her dog the dog walking should be her job anyway.

Normally she would take him to the dog park at least a couple times a week but her car still isn't finished. That and it's another heat wave this week at a couple days at 100.

I am officially done with Geekvape. I got an email this morning from a marketing manager that they will not sponsor any reviewers on ECF. That and made a statement that they have gotten emails complaining that some reviews on ECF are "fake". I'm not sure exactly what that means but I'm past caring any more. They have really taken a downward spiral the last year or two. I've seen complaints here on ECF and on FB about their customer service or lack of. I don't want to associate with a company like that anyway.

    Well, that sucks.

The only product of theirs I’ve considered buying is one or another of the Aegis mods, but never got around tuit.

Wonder what sent them over the edge?

I really don't know. I had a good relationship with them for 3-4 years as a reviewer. Then late last fall the current rep cut off all contact. I am a member at Geeklab so I contacted the admin there and they eventually got me in contact with the person I got the email from. I could kind of see it coming. They almost never came out with a newly designed product and were just kicking out pods and version two of this or that mod. I think when Justin Lai left them and started Oxva that it really hurt them. Who knows though. They have obviously disowned ECF for the most part. I've talked with a couple other reviewers on FB and they had the same experience as me. I wouldn't be totally surprised if they closed their forum here on ECF.

I was using an aegis solo but found I like the Gozee better. Wicked good battery life.

I got a few Solos recently to pad out my stash. On two of the new ones the screen stays on when you change the battery, which didn't happen with my older Solos. With two of them, not the same two, the battery door is different. It feels loose rather than tight when you put it on, and it has a gratey feel to it. They all work though.

I also got a couple of Solo II's. They only work in C, not F. You can set them to F but they switch back to C when you replace a battery. And one of them goes haywire in TC mode.

It's a small sample but I suspect the design and the chip have changed. Along with the cust service changes and other complaints going around I wonder if the company is struggling.

I'm thinking of getting some Z80's. People seem to like them. What is the Gozee, never heard of them.

Not a good sign when they can't take the heat.

Nope. Much better to admit to an error and take steps to fix it. Then you get a rep as an outfit that stands behind its products, and word of mouth does the selling for you. Clam up, delete threads (that still show, just no access ;) ), yeah, word of mouth will take care of you then, too...

I'm thinking of getting some Z80's. People seem to like them.

I have one Solo in use, 3 z80s ;) More of both in the big box, of course, but I find the Z80 a bit more comfortable in my hand (it's a bit smaller than the Solo). So, 3 of the 12 I have in regular rotation are the zees ;) Most of the rest of that dozen are antiques  , a Pico and Pico clone (!!!), 2 eVic Primo Minis, 2 Presa75TCs, 1 Smoant Battlestar (the mod, not the tank), an IPVD3. Couple of Cloupor Minis sit ready (AFTER Cloupor did fess up to a bad batch of charging boards, and FIXED the problem! That response got me to bite ;) ), and a few others antiques as well.

Hm, on reflection, it seems the Solos and Z80s are my newest.

We hit that all the time but the wife walks the dog at night. Be very careful about burning their little paws.

As I said, the Gozee is Innokin. It has a very long battery life ( built in battery) . Charges fast with a C cable. Is very light weight. Has good hand feel. I am considering another.

I checked it out and that Gozee looks interesting!
