Just realized we're missing the 'Members' page we used to have. <#sad> That's where myself and many of you regularly looked to see whose birthday it was.

I've asked those with capes and super powers about it in the proper thread.
Sooooo... IDK... we shall see.

    Somewhere between here and there
We’re going to go visit my BiL in the hospital and then run some errands. I’m relieved to have those two reviews done but still have three to write. Maybe I can spend some time on them later after we get home.

I did a quick mix with the mystery flavor this morning. It definitely smells like some sort of citrus fruit.

    Ok...here's a bit of a funny...

You know how you can wave your hand over your phone and the time shows up ?
I just noticed if I blow vapor at my phone it does it
Hmmm, that doesn't work with my smartphone. I'm sitting here waving my hand over it, under it on the sides, nuttin'. Also tried blowing vapor at it, nadda.

Then it dawned on me, you're her...

The one I have has not been used much.
It has come into use as I have started buying more 22mm atty's.
The only negative thing the JAC has is a poorly constructed 510 pin, ie a kfl'21 with the mtl pin towards the bottom does not work on the JAC.

In terms of price, JAC is a great buy.
I got one of the early Jacs with dodgy paint. It peeled pretty fast and in the end I scraped it all off.

It had a worse problem though. The 510 is pressure fitted into the top plate. Stainless 510 in aluminium top. The electrical connection between the 510 and the top plate kept failing. I'm guessing it was some kind of corrosion due to the two different metals. You could fix it for while by gently tapping on the 510 with a hammer, but after a while that didn't work anymore. Now I can only get it to work by putting a thin metal washer around the 510 so there's a direct connection between the bottom of the tank and the top plate. Some people had that problem but most didn't, maybe they changed something.

Nice mod but I haven't used it for years.

I asked for ideas on my blackcurrant recipe. Thanks for the suggestions that came through.

I put in an order for 2 more blackcurrants, SSA and WF. First SSA or WF I've had. Of the 3 I have now the WF smells better on the back of my hand than the SSA and FA. Also got FA Meringue which smells better than the TFA I had before. Is there anything I should know about % of SSA and WF to use?

This evening I'm planning to make SFTs of the 3 blackcurrants. Also going to adjust my original bottle to reduce everything except the blackcurrant by half and see how that goes.

A few weeks ago I whipped up one of my old and nearly forgotten recipes. Glad I chanced upon it while rummaging through one of my notebooks. I've missed this one.

TIDHNNM (The It Don't Have No Name Mix)

    FA Vanilla Tahiti 2.5%
    FA Vienna Cream 1.5%
    FA Cream Fresh 0.75%
    FA Coconut 1%

It's a nice creamy vanilla with light cherry and almond back notes.

True to it's real life counterpart FA's Vanilla Tahiti features a lovely bright vanilla with very nice, yet subtle, cherry and almond notes. The cherry is light in flavor yet it makes itself known in this mix. It is not fake tasting nor does it taste like a cough syrup. It is a true to life cherry flavor. The almond note is nicely tucked into the background but noticeable.

The creams I used see much use here. Each works well in a variety of mixes. They are excellent creams. In this mix they are used to support each other in creating a more creamier vibe.

FA Coconut adds it's coconut milk like vibe and also contributes its own creaminess to the overall cream profile. At 1% it isn't detected so much as 'coconut' per se. However, those with an acute sense of taste will pickup a rather light coconut on the exhale.

I gave this 3 weeks steeping time. YMMV

@Zazie can you please add this to your blog? Thank you.

I don't have those two blackcurrants. I have FA's and VTA Shisha Blackcurrant.

From my experience with SSA and WF flavors I would start low and increase to taste. If I had those two blackcurrants, I would start each at 0.5%. Though, my preference with most new-to-me flavors is to start on the low side (SFT or in a mix) so take that with a grain of salt.

Curious, have you considered combining two for a fuller and more rounded blackcurrant?
Have you considered doing additional SFT's using blackcurrant combos?

Well, I just got the new ones so I haven't done anything yet. The few fruit recipes I use I always put more than one flavor in because that's what they say to do. Unscientifically though, Just mix with 2 versions of a fruit and see if it's good.

Plenty of empty bottles though. I could do 3 with a single BC, 3 with 2 BC, and 1 with all three. That's always the problem with something new, so many variables. Each one I could try with different %'s. Etc. End up with 20 bottles and lose track of where I am. Especially since I don't use drippers. I have some of those but don't use them for testing because stuff always seems to taste different in drippers.

I did something similar with butterscotch's, caramels, vanillas and some other flavors. With each one I had a base and then started trying out different combinations. 2-3 b-scotch + base (same thing with the caramels and vanillas etc.). I learned a lot about each flavor that way and how they worked with each other in various combinations.

He’s doing better. He had an infection. He’s diabetic and hasn’t been doing good controlling his levels.

On the SSA, I’d start at 1% and probably wouldn’t go over 2.
