I keep getting these emails that say they are from Coinbase but aren’t. The email address is bogus. How stupid do they think people are?

Scammers regularly snag people of all age groups and all levels of education. In the USA billions are lost each year due to scams of all kinds.
Consumers lost $5.8 billion to fraud last year — up 70% over 2020
Almost 2.8 million consumers filed a fraud report to the Federal Trade Commission in 2021, the highest number on record.
When I receive unsolicited email I never open them. Those get deleted with extreme prejudice. If I accidentally open one I never click on any links. I don't see the greatest majority of scam emails. Those go straight to my junk folder. I've setup very aggressive filtering and my ISP does aggressive filtering. Believe it or not, a large number of people never setup any kind of email filtering whatsoever.

Anywho, I tried for SMT... but forum sw says "4 characters" [
]... so SMT* it is then. Everyone calls me SMT, so... this makes sense (to me

Sooooo, when y'all see user SMT* - - - it is not some scammer spoofing me. It is the REAL me. Hmmm, however if you feel 'duped' go ahead and send me $1000.

I know it only takes one but they sent the same email 3-4 times on one day. First thing I did was closed the email and went to my coinbase account on a separate device to verify everything was ok. I've gotten in a habit of forwarding those types of emails to either the FCC or if the company has a phishing reporting email account then I send it to them. In this case I forwarded the email to coinbase.Morning, mixers.

We went to visit my BiL in the hospital Saturday and had to wear masks. My thought is if you don't want to follow the rules then stay outside.
