All I can say is that, in the almost forty years I've lived in Maine, there's always been more snow inland. I don't know the science of it, though.
I've heard the same thing. In the UK the winters aren't very cold and the summers aren't very hot. They say it's because the temp of the sea doesn't change too much and that moderates the temp swings on nearby land. The interior of large continents can have much larger swings.

It's all for grabs now though. The temp in the UK is abnormally high for its latitude because of the Gulf Stream which is made up of warm tropical water. The Gulf Stream turns on and off over geological time, if global warming melts the ice on Greenland the flow of fresh water into the ocean would stop the Gulf Stream and the UK would be like northern Canada. We might have to reclaim our territories in the New World.

I've been trying to figure out a better way of deciding when to rewick tanks. I have 7 going. Some of them will last a month, some need changing after a week. I just change them every 2 or 3 weeks. Now I'm keeping a record of how grungy they are when I change the wicks so I can mark each one in my file and do it more efficiently. I've been thinking about doing that for years. Maybe it will work. It won't be very scientific though. Some I vape a lot, some not so much, and the ones I vape most frequently aren't always the same.

Making some progress with selecting a new computer. It's taking endless hours of research. Decided I can't go all SSD but I can afford an SSD boot drive. The PC's I want come in around $700 each.

One glitch is that component prices have all come down since the China supply chain problems caused by Covid ended. Except for video cards. They are almost all made by 2 manufacturers so even though the shortages are over, without real competition they've been able to keep prices high. That means the video card tends to be lower grade than the rest of the computer. Might have to get the computers and upgrade the video cards which won't be cheap.

I'm a bit concerned about how easy it will be to move to having an SSD boot drive along with a regular drive. I assume the SSD would be the C drive and the regular drive would be D. Windows would be on the SSD. Apps like games would be on D but their files would be full of links to files which are currently on my C drive. Or maybe my game could go on the SSD. More tedious research to come.

It's not easy to buy a PC these days.

Happy Friday, Mixers!

I set my alarm for work earlier yesterday.

Later I got a message that the job got pushed off until next week.

Was up until 1am or so.

Guess where this is going...

Guess where I'm going ...

ps: I hope all of you have a great day!
(or at least tolerable anyway)

    Thank you!
I didn't think I was going to fall asleep again there for a bit, but did manage to get a little more.

    Contemplating getting shopping done early.
    Early shopping is the best.
