I'm sure it isn't worth the effort. LOL
If you have Google Photos, open pic, select edit, select crop, resize and save. File size will be reduced. You don't usually need to crop very much to reduce file size a fair amount.
Do it again if you still need to reduce.

The maximum file size Facebook Messenger allows is 25MB. Messenger will take images up to 4K, or 4096 x 4096 pixels per image.

If it was me and I didn't already have Adobe software, I would upload the image to one of the free image resizing websites to lower it's size. It only takes about a minute to do.

If the image they sent on Messenger was 2016w x 1134h (like the pic w/the Red Onion Saloon in Skagway); select 1024 for the width, the free image resizer will resize the image to 1024 x 576, maintaining the original image aspect ratio, so the image scales proportionally.

    Easy :)

The cemetery pic is a neat one. Maybe I can get it posted tomorrow.

    You got this Fran!!!

On a Windows PC you don't even need a special app, or a website, to resize an image. Windows already has what you need.

Right-click on an image, in the menu that pops up select "resize pictures". An image resizer window will open, choose the image size that you want from the list (or enter a custom size), select the options that you want, and then click "Resize."

Easy enough if ya ask me.

This is a test. I wasn't sure about pics from messenger but it appears to work the same way as any other pic I copy/paste on here. After I paste it, I click on the pic then drag the corners to whatever size I want as these examples. Will that not work for others?
