Sphinx moths are cool too, they are hard to tell from a hummingbird when they are flying about.:)
They are pretty neat and after looking them up I'm not 100% sure that I did see a hummingbird!

I wasn't really close and didn't want to scare it away so kept my distance.
Whatever I saw did seem to have what looked to me like a bird's posture when it briefly landed.

Oh well, I don't think I'll be back to that location again so I guess I'll never know for sure.
It was nice to watch it for a few moments though.

I haven't tried my new 5ml pod yet. Haven't decided what pod and coil to use yet. @hittman any suggestions.

I want to finish the chocolate mix in the PM40 before I fire up another pod also. I still have a half bottle.
I like the .4 coil in the rdl pod at around 23 watts.

Well, good for you. Glad your day was better. Was the same jerk back?
No, no one was on my computer today. I had to wait for our tech support to delete a folder that the guy wanted deleted so he couldn’t do anything until tech support did their thing. With the new security stuff we can’t install or delete files or programs.

So the jerk will be back tomorrow?

Probably a hummingbird as they seem more plentiful, she'll be back. I was fascinated the first time I saw a sphinx (hummingbird) moth. I saw two mating in my garden so I found out the tomato hornworm is the larvae they come from (biggest caterpillar i ever seen) lol Glad they don't eat the "special" tomatoes. :)

It’s very likely. I’m going to tell him that I can’t sit in front of the computer all day again. I have too much work to do to waste the day.

I had a second hummer so I guess they are still here.
Not sure when they leave, probably varies by location. The internet says you should change the mix from 1 part sugar in 4 parts water to 1 part sugar in 3 parts water before they leave so they can get beefed up for the long trip. I need to look the timing up.

I read once that they learn their feeding route early in the season so if you start putting out feeders late you will only get intermittent visitors. I put mine out this year the first time I saw a bird and they have been all over it. More than I've ever had. When the new generation starts flying they follow their parents around to learn the route.

For years I got feeders based on how cool they looked. Like fancy blown glass and so forth. This year I ordered a couple of basic cheap plastic feeders from Amazon. Not as cool but they work, don't drip, and the birds love them. Having a spare is good. I can fill one up and take it outside to swap for the empty one in a single trip up the ladder.
