I wouldn’t even think about it. I don’t even like ladders.

I had a bad experience with a ladder back in 2005. I lived near South Padre Island, and it was a busy hurricane year...the year of Katrina. Before Katrina was Emily, who was projected to possibly hit my area while I was away on vacation in Hawaii. As a precaution, I boarded up my 2 story house. My neighbor was helping me. As we were boarding up the bedroom window that was over the garage door. He was on one ladder hanging the boards and I was going up and down a second ladder, hauling up the boards. We had the ladders propped up between the open garage door and the 2nd floor window. I was at the top of my ladder when it began to slide down. If the garage door had been closed it probably would have been a slow ride all the way down, but as the garage door was open, the ladder stopped sliding and just fell to the ground. I hit the driveway face first. I chipped a tooth, lacerated the area between my lower gum and lip, and dislocated my right great toe. It could have been worse. I had a visit to the ER to get my toe fixed, and had to go back again later that night because the laceration started bleeding again. My whole chin was bruised up by the time I left on vacation. The worse thing was that while I was gone, Emily veered south and hit Mexico instead, so I needed not have bothered with the boarding. I've been leery of ladders ever since.

That’s bad. I had a ladder fall and my foot landed on one of the rungs. I had the worst blow out fracture the foot specialist had ever seen. I was out of a shoe for over six months.

Ouch! That was worse than mine. I was lucky. I was healed in 2 weeks and even got to recover in Hawaii.

    Had some fun tonight.

Earlier this year I got a KFL from a fellow ECF'er that had been drilled out to 5/64". I was surprised how much of a difference it made, and really like the way it vapes.

Been meaning to try it myself and tonight I gave it a shot. A bit scary because it leaves the body of the pin rather thin but it seems to be fine. It took a while to figure out a technique that worked. I wrapped the pin in a piece of silicone coaster and held it in very small vice grips. Used a lightweight drill. The drill followed the existing hole just fine. I could only drill a short distance at a time, then stop and clean it out, so it took a while. Think I'll do some more.

The only problem is you can't tell if a tank has a drilled out pin without taking it apart and checking the top of the pin where it comes through the deck block. I've been trying to figure out a way of marking the outside of the tank in some way so I'll know which ones have been drilled out. Maybe dig out the Dremel and scratch a mark on the bottom where it would be covered up by the mod.

Morning, Fran. My plan is to finish this vape stash clearing and organizing. I am so sick of it and tripping over boxes of stuff. I think I will be down to 2 full tubs when all is done.

Not counting all the tubs of flavorings. I really should try to clear more out. I dumped all the really old ones.

    Glad you liked it!

Yep, that's the same method I used, to drill them out. Let the pin 'float' somewhat, in the rubber. The drill bit & pin find their groove, to keep the bit centered.

As for marking the tanks, I've used this quick & dirty method to identify what KFL gets what juice. I have dedicated tank / juice combos, so this helps me prevent filling the tank with the wrong juice.

I ordered an o ring assortment a long time ago, and just picked a fat one to stretch over the top section of the KFL. The same o ring has been on that KFL for at least 3 years. When I wash / rinse the KFL's I never separate the 3 tank sections anyway, so the o ring just stays there.

Might be a temporary solution to 'mark' the drilled out ones.
