Morning, mixers.

Looks to be mostly dry, although maybe some more bands of rain coming through. Hoping for more :)

And, of course, after the bookstore the boss wanted to hit a few other shops...

That dang rain can't stop so soon. Hope it's back with you before long.

We have a high of 90 today. There's a possibility of rain tomorrow night, but I'm not holding my breath. It'll get cooler later in the week with highs in the 70s, perfect fall weather.
Our today looks like 73 to be followed by 2 days in the low 80's. After that it will start cooling fast down to the 50's. More normal for October here.

I noticed that my newish Mango juice burns through wicks rather quickly. The mango tastes burned sometimes after a week. It's an almost clear juice but I guess it has quite a lot of sweetness in it.

I have one ginger mix which burns wicks quite fast, that's a dark juice. Menthol lasts a really long time.

I always changed wicks once a month when I had a dozen or more setups going, now I do it more based on taste and generally after a shorter time. I'm down to 6 setups now. I also change coils after 3 wick replacements. If a coil looks clean and shiny I sometimes leave it in longer.

There have been threads over the years where folks discussed what they would like to see happen in new mods. Mine was always some intelligent chip that told me when I needed a new wick or coil. Can't see it happening though.

I had a pile of old bricks behind my garage, some paving bricks and some regular bricks. Posted them for free on Nextdoor. 6 people expressed an interest but never called back. Then yesterday an old hippy woman showed up. She works in a plant nursery so she was in good shape. She took the bricks and then cleared out a bunch of other stuff. A pile of concrete pavers. A load of cedar siding from when I replaced my old siding. She even took a stack of used lumber from fences I took down recently and half rotted landscape timbers, she wanted it to use it all as dividers around planting areas.

Then she saw my pile of rocks. A previous owner of my property was obsessed with rocks and had them piled up all over the lot. Over the years I collected them and hauled them over to a big rock garden. From big boulders to fist sized rocks. The rock garden used to be a ring of big rocks with soil inside, it turned into a huge pile of rocks. That made it really hard to weed because you couldn't get to the roots. She did 3 trips clearing out the rocks and she's due back later this week.

Saved me a load of work and trips down the dump. Guess I got lucky.

I'd like one that would do that and then change the wick/coil for me.

Goodness, what is everyone up to today? Anything good? Or not?
I had off today to take my mom for a checkup so got that done and a couple of errands while we were out.

I got home to flavor mail from BCF and DIYVS. Both were ordered on Friday and got here already!
