It just recently happened to me as well.

Yes. That's likely because of the number of recent older member account hacks the ECF has seen. As well as a fairly large number that were hacked last year.

Daniel, the recent "dating" posts you (myself and perhaps others) reported likely precipitated this password change. From my findings, each one of those were old accounts that were hacked (likely easily cracked passwords). Those old member accounts have not been used by their owners in many years.

All the reason for everyone on the ECF to use "very strong" passwords (and changing those regularly).


ETA: And also, as Retired1 previously mentioned, a very good reason to use "Two Step Verification", which can be found under "Password and security" in each members account "Settings".
