The extra weight of lugging one of my decent cameras (and some lens) through the woods would be a pain.
Every now and then I shoot some photos with my old iPhone (its camera isn't very good). These are recent...........

That's our part of our lake (and is looking due West). There is an island right where the two geese are. All the land you see is ours. And those are some of our woods I go trudging through.
I also take my mountain bike through those. We have plenty of trails for riding around here. LOL, I like going off-trail!!!

There are a couple of turtles in that pic. The obvious one is on the left and there is one on the log at the right and kinda hidden by the tall grass.
Last week I was out in the woods by myself for a few days. No tent, just my super light sleeping bag and some supplies. I take drinking water straight from the streams, have a very nice filter for that. Nothing like fresh cool water!
I see lots of wildlife (most of the time it's in passing). Deer, porcupine, fox, otter, racoons, possum, rabbits, squirrels, beaver, chipmunks etc. etc. The occasional black bear. We hear wolves howling from time to time (there are a few packs around these parts). Very rarely see one. They're difficult to spot, if they don't want to be seen, you will never know they are around. Many different bird species migrate up this way for the spring/summer/autumn. There are a few resident cougars up this way. We have only seen them on trailcam photos. No one around here has ever had an encounter with one. Humans are not a regular prey item.
We see bald eagles all the time. Occasionally we will see the much more majestic and beautiful Golden Eagle. Those are a true treat!!! We see a few of the different falcon species. Those are way cool.
Most critters who can be hunted come on our lands during hunting seasons. We don't allow any hunting on our lands.
Ya know, if you find a spot and quietly sit there, critters will come by. LOL...... it's their home!!!
I am just happy that, at 64, I am still able to enjoy the outdoors. Can no longer do all the things I used to. Someday, I won't be able to do most (or any) of this. But...... oh well, we all get old and eventually, ummm, die. Ya know... we're born, we live, we die. Impermanence is the way of all things.
