Just got home. We ended up getting a new plant at Lowe’s for the wife’s flower bed out front and did Sam’s for a few items.

The recipe came from youtube, google "preppy kitchen blueberry scones".
I mentioned them on a whatsapp I share with my siblings. One of my sisters brought up the cheese scones my mother used to make. I had forgotten about them but now I remember how good they were. The recipe is long gone unfortunately.
My mother had one cookbook which is also long gone. She wrote down recipes on the paper wraps from cans which she saved, paper was expensive in the UK after the war. When she died in 2005 my sister found a box full of can wraps in her kitchen, she just couldn't stop saving them. People who live in hard times like a war or the Great Depression build up habits that never go away. Her recipes tended to be mainly a list of ingredients. She didn't need instructions on how to cook the stuff, the quantities depended on what you had in stock, ingredients likewise.

Just read a BBC article about the recent UK riots. In one town a couple of teenagers were sent to jail for disorder and robbery. During the riot they broke into two shops. In both cases what they stole was vapes. I guess not many things you could steal have as much resale value per bagful as vapes.
I am now. I took some Advil and plan on taking it easy the rest of the night.
