I spent hours working on our desktop computer today. No matter what I tried I couldn’t get it to boot into windows. I finally ran a Dell diagnostic and it had a QR code to scan with my phone. The link it took me to said to replace the hard drive. I pulled the backup external hard drive to check it and evidently it hasn’t been running backups for years. I set it up when we got the computer but never went back to check up on it. I’ve barely used the desktop since I got my laptop a few years ago. I pulled the hard drive and am going to take it to a data recovery place.

Why have it if you don’t use it??

I did the same thing with an external hard drive. Hooked it up on my old PC when I first got and forgot about it. Only one backup from when I set up the computer almost ten years earlier. It was plugged in all that time and still worked. Worked out well though. That backup contained a bunch of old emails from the PC before that one which got lost in my latest upgrade.

For decades I've buzzed my remaining hair with a 1/2" comb and my beard with 1/4" comb. Last spring I decided I wanted a long beard. Unfortunately my beard didn't grow long, the hair turned curly and expanded out in all directions like a balloon. I ended up looking like the crazy guy who pops out of a cardboard box under the bridge downtown. Anyway, this morning I gave up and got the buzzer out.

Now I have 3 lemon mixes done with FE Lemon, one with lemon cake, one with cream, and one with cream and graham cracker. Also did one with just SSA Lemon Cream Wafer. Tried the cream version even though it's only 1 day old. Not too impressive but I need to be more patient. Down the road I'll try adding Super Sweet. Out of FE Lemon now, the new bottle is due to arrive Monday.

Does she back up her files?
No. Her response would be that it’s my job. I just hope that the data can be recovered. There’s a place downtown that specializes in it. I’m sure it won’t be cheap.

Good morning. No plans yet. I’m still sick thinking about the computer crash. I sent an email to get an estimate for data recovery but they are only open during the week.
Earlier this year when I was setting up my new PC I was doing some searching and saw a link to a data recovery advice site. Looked at it out of curiosity. The experts said most of the time it's not too expensive and it's quite rare that a disk is too far gone to be sorted out. Most of the time it's a software fix, it only costs big bucks if there is physical damage and they have to send it off to a lab to get the case opened up,

Maybe you can still be the hero instead of the loser who forgot to back up her files. FYI, I use a backup system called Idrive. It's quite cheap and easy to use. I've rescued a few files that I accidentally deleted.

    Good luck.

The company I’m going to take it to has over a 99.% success rate. Great reviews but a few mention it’s not cheap. I don’t know what others consider cheap but good and cheap don’t usually go together.

I’m sure we will end up getting a new computer after this. I’m not going to make the same mistake again and am going to use a cloud backup as well as purchasing a new backup drive. I will check the new one periodically to make sure it’s running backups.

So many threads get off topic so fast. It figured it would be hard to get a random topic thread off topic:lol:

Soooo,I have a couple questions to start.

Anyone mixing with plum flavor? I have INW Plum in my cart at BCF but I'm wondering about uses. Maybe a Bourbon/plum or Brandy? Maybe a cheesecake or custard? Anything not too sweet. Any ideas?

Also has anyone tried Capellas Silverline Biscuit or Blueberry Extra? Interested in flavor descriptions.

Also a description of Acai berry?
I have mixed with plum flavors, it’s been a couple years, but I wasn’t thrilled with the results and dropped it. As I recall it was for a Holidays project and I looked up the “best of” from the NOTED” episodes and worked with those at the recommended strengths, so at least I started off with good choices. I just didn’t have great results I guess?

The project isn’t in my current notebook and I’ve moved since then and lost it in the move

That post was a bit out of date. It was 8 years ago.
