ROFLMAO. Now that's a Flash Back. The Grrrr Days of vaping. :)

I was one of those that found the REO Early and life was so good after that.

I was a "late comer" in fall 2010. I groveled and begged Robert for my first Wood REO, Purpleheart with chipped shoulder he found in a drawer. It was my first "swimmer" and DH's first REO. Love the old guy. He took many a swim and many hard splats onto hard floors and rocks below. He's still gorgeous and funtioning perfectly.

I hear you Alice, Rob use to promote the original Wood REO as tough enough to throw through the dry wall and keep on working. :)

I never tried it but i never doubted it. :)

So from what I've read, the 18500 wood reos are the rarest, followed by the first reo production run (release price of only 128$ !!) which was a woodville. Although it seems a couple of other woodies are rare also the stabilised.

The metal reos where in larger production, but obviously the first grand and mental minis are rare. The nickel is rare as well.

Does this sound correct?

I am hoping when *cough* Nerak *cough* has some time the timeline could be written up a little clearer for me.

Big thanks, really interesting thread!

The first Wood REO's were not called Woodvils, Just REO's :)

Yes the woodvil 18490 is rare and hard to come by these days but IMO the Woodvil 14500 is just as Rare.

Rob started on the metal mods with the Mini (First run was 25 polished ones) I have one. and the nickels were only one short run of 25 or so maybe less.

Other then that you got it. :)
