After a week of messing with it I just ordered the stainless steel mesh and 30ft of wire on ebay. I really hope it helps lol

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

im running 400 mesh and bobas tastes fantastic, i will warn you tho... it wicks a little slower being vg, you have to wait a while between hits , a couple drops of vodka to thin it helps out, 325 mesh is supposed to work great with vg but have yet to order some.

anyway...i tried seting it up several times with silica wick with no luck, the mesh is working great.

Nice, let me know how that turns out! Debating a mesh order myself.
6x6 peice was like 8$ on ebay and probablly get 20 or more wicks out of it... definatelly worth it.
been vaping heavy for a couple weeks and the same wick and coil look new.
between fills i just dry burn the coil then whipe it with a wet qtip.

i can see a mesh wick lasting a couple months or more, then you can just flip it and put the coil side in the tank and u have a brand new wick again.... definatelly the way to go!

Ok...got one of these and a couple questions...

Made my first coil...went pretty easy (I used a soldering vice, like having 4 hands) put it on the ProVari and it reads 4.7 ohms...lol. Makes vapor nicely, at 6 volts. Too Many coils? I think there is 5 on it. but it doesn't cause an error msg on the ProVari which trips in a heartbeat if you over volt a carto. Suggestions?

Next...what is with the hole in the top clear tank? An air hole? makes it way to easy a draw and I have found it vapes great with that hole blocked. Is the hole needed at all?

thanks all...

is yours the v3?
Is this hole your talking about inbetween the posts or in the side of the clear tube itself?

The hole in the middle between the posts is the air inlet tube and blocking this would make this not work so im assuming your talking about a hole in the side of the clear air chamber tube that they must of added on the new version as mine dont have this.

If you do indeed have a hole in the plastic tube you can block it, its there to help adjust draw,th,vapor. If you have a hole in the cap you could also try plugging the main airtube hole and just using the hole in the top cap.

I havent heard anyone mentioning having a hole in there top cap tho, can you post a pic?

And yes... remove coil wraps for lower ohms

The hole is in the clear top poly tube...I have tape over it for now, with thread it for a filler screw later, looks like one for a scope base hole will work nicely.

As this was bought used I have now idea what kind of wire was included... I would prefer to use mesh actually. I may try unwinding a couple coils and see what happens. Was really surprised how easy it was to wind the coil actually.

no burnt taste even at 6 volts

Ok, so i ordered the mesh off of grainger. 13 bucks for a square foot. Not bad. Considering the size of wick holes in this thing, should last a long time.
No syringes atm by the way so cant fill the damn thing! Just blocked off all holes and using as a dripper with great success. Loving the versatility of this thing.

I have a SS mesh wick and kanthal coil in mine.I also stuffed a toothpick in the center air tube(I don't like a gurgly, stiff draw) and drilled a 1/16th hole in the top cap,Bang!big vapor, great taste, not to spendy.
semi budget friendly genesis tank

Looks good, so how is the vapor,th,flavor with the airtube plugged and cap drilled versus the stock setup?
Been thinking of doing this

Better, not as stiff on the draw and you can twist the cap(hole position) and dial in your TH.

Rofl ! Azi, trust me, I didn't see your post before I did this :)

Major differences between my setup and yours is that I haven't drilled the 1/16 hole just because I like a stiffer draw, but I built a U shaped SS wick.

To all our friends on ecf that use a RA-tank with a silica wick, I beg you, try a SS mesh. The difference is night and day.

This setup has been working for me so well, that my high-end Genesis atomizers have been taking a break for the past 3 days.

PS- If it wasn't for reading Jeepster's thread I would have never found out about this tank. Thank you, Jeepster.

A little FYI for the people who may have ordered stainless mesh from Grainger.

I just got mine in the mail and it took 10 days to get to my door. Looking good!

Nice Big 12 x 12 sheets. I got two and these should last me quite a while.

They came UPS in a bulky envelope nicely packed between carboard.

I haven't done any cutting yet but will give it a go this week sometime.

Not bad for $13 bucks per sheet and some change.

After some more searching around the board I found a great company in the UK that ships all over the world. They're called The Mesh Company. I got a sheet of 325 and a sheet of 400 and as far as I can tell they send 3 or 4 extra sheets of a similar superfine mesh to you for free. It was about $27 Canadian including shipping, not too shabby :)

well got my 400 mesh few days ago and made a coil, it was ok, not as much vapor as my other wick but did not really get a chance to break in {lasted about 4 hours} I see the leads "connecting to the post" got red hot. Before I try again am I doing something wrong? I followed deezdrama's post and made a single wick "not u shaped" and plugged the other hole, I use 36ga wire, had about 5 wraps.
