  • Reason: Thread is about using Rayon, you don't use it, you don't like it - don't post here

Rayon = very slight bitter-ish/metallic aftertaste
Brassica plants = like!
No clues..
haha I had to look up "brassica plants" - that conversation was a little ways back!
Like Jeremy mentioned with metallic aftertaste, maybe it's coil burn you're tasting. Maybe try making your wick a little thicker.

Don't feed the trolls boys.

BTW, the "Ignore" feature of the forum works great, add a member to it and you'll never have to see their posts again. :)

Yeah, it does, but not when other people quote them. So scrolling right on past them would probably be best.

...and I don't think they're all trolls. The last guy was just lost and confused. He seems to be OK with his 500' box of rayon now.

I've been following this thread here and there, and can't wait to try some rayon in my various tanks. It's such a long thread, I'm not sure if this has been mentioned... small amounts can be found on ebay for not much money - 10' for $5 (free shipping). I know it's not the best deal per ft., but it seemed like a cheap way to try bit out. (I doubt I'll be going through 10' very quickly anyway).

Leothwyn,

You may be surprised 10' feet will last a pretty long time. A few inches will wick a whole lot of attys.

12' for $5 free shipping: http://www.ebay.com/itm/321446184595?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

I've been mostly lurking in this thread. I've received some samples of CCr and reinforced CCr and given some samples. My very first build was with a Melatonin wad and it turned out great. My all day vape tasted even better than I expected but it's been downhill since then with my builds until last night. Thanks to awsum and the little thingy he sent me (that just doesn't sound right ) to make coils, I made a perfect coil and accidentally used the right amount of rayon in my kayfun clone and WOW, I am so loving this stuff. I add sweetener to my juice but it was a little bit sweeter than normal. It sure satisfied my sweet tooth. :p So I've been vaping it constantly since without a nic buzz, but I'm noticing the juice in my tank that started out clear is already turning orange (24 hrs in). If I turn the voltage down I lose the sweet but I'm really enjoying the flavor and huge clouds.

Then I tried another build in my AGA-T (what a PITA) and used a different DIY juice (same nic level) and got the worst nic buzz since I started vaping. I don't know why but I'm going to have to lower my nic level with that juice. So, I'm loving this stuff but still practicing on getting a consistent density of rayon in my coils. 2 things I love about this rayon...flavor and cheap. :D

Thanks Jeremy.

Eh, I can't keep up with this thread, apparently.. Too successful!
Nope it's not the taste of the coil, as I've suggested to someone else many many pages ago, it's something else. Bitter more than metallic, and anyway it's just a subtle aftertaste - nothing to worry about.

Not a bad price, I don't think. 12' for $5, and I think that would last me for the rest of my life. I think I just might go for it. Thanks for the link. :)
Its not a bad price but its still a profiteering price. The 750' box is about $12 plus tax, the 3lb box is $18, I believe. So $12 for 750', sold in 60x12' lots, equals 60x$5=$300 gross profit less the cost of envelope and postage x 60. Seriously, you could sell 50' lots and still make a decent profit.
