Been on the Mr.Mom tip now for two and half years (but not so much now since she started Montessori). My daughter loves it when daddy is "building" because she loves taking all the drill bits out of the holder and putting them back--and she puts them all back in the right spot too! Thanks for your post, it just reminded me of all that is to come.
I think I love the conversations as much, if not more, when we're doing stuff together the most. It keeps things humble to listen to life from their perspective and to have to think how to teach down to their level of understanding. Explaining how a swing works while you're pushing them in it so they can grasp it is not very easy lol. But I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Hobo 3.1 and the Thump look great.
The thump is really awesome. It's everything it appears to be: a tiny, well machined, leak resistant, flavorful atty with a draw that is a cross between a derringer and an aeolus. For $85 (or whatever they go for nowadays), it's easily worth the money.

My Velocity clone showed up from China today. I'd already made a 10 wrap,3.0 id coil for it so try out a centered single coil for its massive wick ability. Some vape juice showed up in another vape mail as well and it is my favorite, Serendipity, but in a 80/20 ratio vs the 50/50 my local shop carries from the same juice company.
It was so easy to install the coil and wick I was afraid it was going to blow up when I vaped it the first time, fearing I must have messed up, it should've taken a LOT longer.
My daughter was on the computer about 30' from where I was when I tried the first few hits and I exhaled away from her, the opposite direction actually. She angrily left the room after 4 draws saying "daddy I can't see a thing in here, let me know next time before you do that". The cloud was stupid thick and in about 5 minutes the whole downstairs of the house had a haze to it. Just for grins I pushed the coil to 1 side, wrapped a duplicate real quick, and again in under 2 minutes had it installed and another couple of minutes to put a wick in it and juice it up. The single vertical coil is just ridiculously simple to put in, gives a better flavor than the dual (for whatever reason which I don't understand) and does a stupid thick cloud at 55 watts. I had time lower it down to 50 watts with the dual because the vapor is too warm at higher wattage than that. When I get home from taking my daughter to her Brownies meeting I'm gonna go back to a single vertical. I just wanted to cuss I was so blown away by both the favor and cloud in that setup. Here's the first build, single, after wicking but before priming with juice.

Other side of my den after an exhale, my daughter running out of the room.

Today I was reminded of why I continue to try RDAs even with the amount of disappointment I've had over the past few months. I got a "new" atty in today that has immediately become a fav! And what's even better is that I got it for ~$40. It's perfect for clouds and flavor, and that is just one of the things I love about this atty. It's got its quirks, but none of the quirks are irritating, they're just particular 'ways' of how the atty is. Sorry I can't break it down right now, but I just wanted to post my happiness with a purchase...finally! LOL

I have a BFd Stumpy. Should I buy a Thump as well or am I duplicating vapes. I'm thinking a Hobo 3.1..

I think that the Hobo would be more duplicating, but that is not to say that the Hobo isn't the better choice...but I am going merely off looks. The Thump does look good though. At the end of the night (which it is), I think you can really only know for sure by trying them out. I feel that as much as many of these RDAs are the same o' same o', I also see why each one has its fan base over the competition.

For instance, I can totally see why someone would want a Kennedy, but I went with the Sub Zero (ultimately) due to it having a two-post design (and being so much cheaper), thus making it a simple insert-and-secure to get a centered build over the air holes. But for someone that are more leery of possible leaking, though I have had none today with the Sub Zero, I can understand why one would go with the Kennedy. [My apologies for rambling.]

I have another simpleton question since y'all have been so kind to me.
I have an iStick 100w with 2 efest 2800mah batteries in it. When I'm running my single coil setup (1.47 ohms is what the mod reads) it shows WAY over the 4.2 volts (8.5 volts) whenI set it to 50 watts. Is that a bad thing as in dangerous to continue to do? I'm starting to get the ohms law but the voltage thing is intimidating with my limited knowledge of how electricity works.
Thanks again.
I ran it as a dual for a bit and the voltage was way down from 8+, but it was a hot vape at 50 watts and the flavor was non existent at lower wattages . If needed for safety I'll run less wraps at a smaller id but I'm really liking the results it's putting into the air so if it's safe I've found my happy place/tank/juice.

I like it too but I'm hooked on the NarDA. I like simple appearance, unadorned. It looks cleanly built too.
Yeah that narda.....always out of reach lol. But I'm holding out for one myself. The solstice is cool though, reminds me of my hobo 3.1.

Where is the Solstice for sale. I want.

I got a brass Ruby eh H? Gorgeous
Good to see you again buddy. I have a question for you: what's the biggest build you've fit into your kennedys?

Im starting to go hard with all these different clapton varieties and was wondering if a Kennedy 22 is good for putting in some stage headed fused claptons.

So I submitted an inquiry through the Solstice Purchase Form. If it supports a single 3.5mm coil in between the center posts AND is able to clear the top cap at the same time, then I am in on this one. Still waiting for someone to release an RDA with support for single large coil with top airflow. I would pick up five of those.

I found an old unused spool of 28g kanthal and decided to play around building a bit higher with thinner wire tonight to try to get a decent build that my istick 50w can handle on the sapor for pocket carry at work in an attempt to leave my parallel box/tug on my desk in the office. I had to get on steam engine for the first time in a long time to find out how the hell to build dual coils around .8-1 ohm and then had a miserable time working with 28g wire. I decided I need a single coil atty with more aiflow than a veritas.

Dual 7 wrap with 28 on a 3mm screw driver gives good flavor and a decently dense vape at 50w but I feel like it'd be perfect around 60 because the ramp up is still a tad anemic. Maybe I'll rebuild and drop a wrap off tomorrow but I'm tired of dealing with the uncooperative shiz tonight. Ha

Instead of dropping a wrap, switch to a 2.4mm or 2mm screwdriver; I've been finding that a smaller inner diameter will improve the airflow around the coil resulting in better flavor. This will drop your resistance a bit, decreasing your ramp up time but it also might improve the flavor as well.
