Instead of dropping a wrap, switch to a 2.4mm or 2mm screwdriver; I've been finding that a smaller inner diameter will improve the airflow around the coil resulting in better flavor. This will drop your resistance a bit, decreasing your ramp up time but it also might improve the flavor as well.

I'd thought of that previously because I normally run 2.4 with 22 which always seems to land at .17 but thought the bigger coil would give the surface area for better flavor with the thinner wire.

However, now I remember having the same dilemma when i started building with thicker wire a year or so ago and a narrower coil was the ticket. You may have hit the nail on the head.

I'm not sure how I ever built with this crap.

Honestly, I've never used a sapor before but I do have both aeolus RDAs and they're very similar in size and airflow. I would recommend sticking with your 22g or 24g and 2.4 mm ID and keep your builds under 0.3 if running on a mech; these top airflow atomizers with larger airholes need some heat to start producing good flavor.

So I submitted an inquiry through the Solstice Purchase Form. If it supports a single 3.5mm coil in between the center posts AND is able to clear the top cap at the same time, then I am in on this one. Still waiting for someone to release an rda with support for single large coil with top airflow. I would pick up five of those.
According to Cody Howard of N8 mods, although the positive center pin is non-adjustable, it protrudes for use on direct-to-battery mods. The image he sent me appears to show at least a 1mm protrusion:

Still waiting for clarification on whether or not a single 3.5mm (or larger) coil will fit between the posts...

My normal build works well when I have it on my Hammond box but dual anything bigger than 28 doesn't play well on the little istick 50w. I'm hoping the next build works a bit better and I'll have a small, leak resistant, pocket friendly setup.

Edit: 8 wraps of 28 on the 2.4 got it pretty close. .8 at 50w hits about like 24g on a mech. I prefer just a tad more heat but this is close enough. Pretty dense and warm and decent flavor.

As can be seen with how dinged up the drip tip/istick is, when I'm away from my desk, dropping stuff is a thing when outside at work. Hence why I'm wanting to get away from using my nicer stuff away from my desk. Not a bad vape, though.

Sure hope I can grab one of these...

The second run will be much smaller than the first, unfortunately. Hopefully a few used ones will start popping on the various classifieds sites.

Catfish is receiving 10 from the second batch but all have been spoken for (that's where mine is coming from). He stated a larger number will be on the way in December which I guess will be the third run.

I've been keeping an eye on Chowderhead's list to see what's happening but, I want a regular one.

Same here. Let the stalking begin! I really think this might be the rda I've been searching for. Hopefully I'll be able to acquire one within the next couple months.

I know man. I really wish we could just give him our money now to help him pay for the production run. I understand that this stuff gets expensive for a designer to create but wouldn't it make sense to accept 'pre-orders' where you pay 100% up front, get 100-200 orders worth of cash then use that to pay for that run.

I'm not a business guy either so there's likely something I'm missing.

That can, and does, go sideways. I, for one, appreciate modders who take the initial investment upon themselves and don't take payment until a product is ready to ship. There is more than one example of modders taking pre-order money and never delivering the product nor returning the money.

I've tried that solstice rda, it's neat for huge singles. We'll atleast that's what was in it, and what one of the guys behind it was using. They sell them at a local b&m. Kidneypuncher.com
I like it but, I think it's meh for that amount of coin.

Oops didn't read all the way through. And it'll defiantly fit a 3.5 from what I saw

Looks like a Veritas or that Veritas copy with no post running through the airholes. Whatever. I'm not impressed. (glum)
I don't think it will de throne the Stumpy or a Thump....

My Veritas is another favorite.

I'm interested in it but not completely sold. I still love my veritas and built it so much over the last year that building it isn't a PITA like it was at first. I'm really interested in what the airflow is like in comparison as the veritas isn't quite open as much as I like in a flavor atty nowadays.

I truly love this RDA! The Sub Zero is the first atty I've successfully had serious macro coils greatly trump medium size or even micro coils. Spaced 3/4 wrap of 24g with a ~4.76 ID (coming out around .25-.27Ω). Great purchase for me!

Wonderful flavor! Substantial airflow, but it's like there is a feeling to the draw, as if there was resistance, but it's very open. I love the way this thing hits! It's got a really nice TH--something I rarely ever use to describe RDAs!

Still no leaking either, but it's because the cotton (especially with these coils!) kinda holds and blocks the liquid from entering the air inlets (like some strange upside down well). It's weird, but for some reason this atty really makes sense to me.

No (or very minimal) spitting.
No excessive heat.
Have to redrip often.

That is what bottom tubed airflow feels like. It's the same with the Kennedy 22 and 24. Different, but a good different. Looks as if you can go single coil by closing off an unused port with a threaded screw. If so, nice! Is such a screw included as part of the retail package? May I ask what the centerline distance is from one post to the other? For example, the distance between the center of the positive post to the center of the negative post on the Velocity is 10mm...

Maybe this is my first (solely) bottom-fed-airflow RDA that had such an amount. I've tired many others, but they were generally on the tight side to very tight! I would love a Kennedy, if...well, I can barely look at a three-post RDA anymore.
