Just received my Ohman coil jig for use with the Pancake RDA. I won't have a chance to build with it tonight but perhaps tomorrow night. This jig makes coils for how Bret envisioned the RDA to be used.

In the meantime, here's a pic of the jig:

I think this is the best thread to ask this.

Which RDA is the best for not leaking?

I didn't really want to spend a lot since last time I got into vaping I got caught up in collecting and buying expensive stuff that no one wants any more. So this time around I'm going at it differently, but it seems like I might have to drop some dough to get what I want from a rda.

Major priority is leakage, cant have it. Its going on a Reo thats gonna be my active outdoor setup.

Soooo, what do you guys recommend?

Gonna agree with spalife that the Marquis is probably a good option but an authentic will be over $100. Most people love them.

A Hastur is a good, cheap option. I find it produces good flavor and it has top airflow so the chances of it leaking are very minimal.

Check out the Catfishy Atty Mods thread for more info. Chowderhead modifies and sells attys for bottom feeding.

Yeah I'm looking at top airflow.

I was looking at the manta v2 since a lot of people say they don't get leakage but they might not be using it like I will be. I do a lot of snow boarding and hiking so this thing is going to be in my pockets bouncing around. I also read that someone said it had a tight draw, I don't like tight draws.

I know no matter what I might get some leakage because of my use but I'm trying to keep it at a bare minimum.

I have a Manta V2 that is bottom fed. The draw is on the tighter side but you can lung hit it. It's definitely a flavor chaser so if you prefer a lot of vapor production you should look elsewhere. I'd imagine it would be relatively leak free with how you'd use it, though.

Tight draw: manta V2, too tight for me, gave it to my wife

Open draw: REMatty (currently available for $20 at vape-street and $30 at coval), not for heavy twisted or Clapton wire, will easily fit 22g naked wire, optional $8 slam cap to use your own 510 tip from the vapor lair (stock is metal, I need Delrin)

All around: Hobo V3.1

Some notes on the Solstice based on the 24 hours it's been in my possession and less than 12 hours it's been built.

I had the same loose top cap o-ring issue, and while annoying, I have a bag full of spares from over the years so I just threw a thicker one in.

I haven't seen any leaking from the 510 or positive screw on the deck, but the deck insulator looked rather thick. In fact, while trying to pull it all appart to clean it I couldn't even get the post to come loose from the insulator.

After finally getting some builds in it, I feel less than impressed thus far. I put 3 different builds in last night, 2 of them being "not standard" coils (basic 6 wrap 24ga SS316L and 7 wrap 24ga square SS wire from unkamen (grade unknown)) and 1 being my go to build, which I use in my Aeolus v2 currently (fused Clapton 26/36 SS316L/n80, 6 wraps, 3mm). With the regular coils I wasn't getting much at all, but I WAS running SS wire in TC mode on the RX200, so the learning curve is still there. With the fused Claptons I'm getting dense, dense vapor, but the flavor and warmth just isn't there like it is in my Aeolus v2.

Another factor I'm going to blame is the fact that I don't have a great drip tip for it either. The tips I tried were my LokiLabs Router, which caused a bit of spit back or just juice collection and overflow onto my lips I believe because of the reduced inside diameter, and a cheap eBay super wide bore friction fit piece that I feel is just too airy and could be part of the reason the vapor isn't warm enough for me. It's a shame that I wish I had kept the drip tip off the Tugboat v3 before I sold it. It was the perfect height, outside diameter, friction fit, delrin/SS combo and the inside diameter was just right. The search beings to find a replacement.

I know I need more time with it before I can make a verdict. Some different builds once my SS430 wire gets here from the UK, coil placement, airflow adjustment, wicking technique and finding the right tip are going to be my starting point.

I will recommend the Aeolus Lite for an affordable, extremely leak-resistant, flavorful RDA.
It's literally next on my list. I was trying to hold off on picking up another once since I still have a v1 and v2 clone, but the price point and the fact that I KNOW I love the flavor they produce, paired with the 4 post design and no more threaded sleeve make it just right up my alley.

Haha, I meant to direct that towards @chillaxing

Being the huge Aeolus fan you are, I don't think there's anyway you won't like it. Every Aeolus I've owned has just been awesome; they're the reason I never fiddle with any top air flow attys anymore because I don't believe anything else can do it better then Syntheticloud (give it a while though, something better WILL eventually come out).

The thump was pretty nice but it was missing the beautiful draw of the aeolus and something about that tiny chamber, it just doesn't pull out the flavor like the aeolus does. I think it's because the vapor doesn't accumulate as much as the aeolus; it's like your sucking the vapor right off the coils without them ever having time to aggregate and create some density.

I completely agree. I look at all the RDAs I've owned over the past 2 years and the only ones I couldn't see myself getting rid of are the Aeolus v1 and v2, even though I haven't even touched the v1 since the v2 came out lol. And, they're both clones. Which leads me to believe the authentics are that much better! Once income tax comes in, it will be time to get at least one Aeolus Lite, as well as try to find a smaller dual 18650/built in lipo DNA200 device. #vapegoals

I was gonna ask about the aeolus. I guess it's cheap enough to give it a shot. I really liked the manta v2 after watching some videos on youtube, but I can't even find the clones for sale anymore...

Any other leak proof loose draw that I should look at?

2 of my favorite attys - pretty damned leak-proof.
Manta and Rogue - both Catfished.
Not sure if he's got stock - if not, you might post a "Wanted" thread - I'm thinking a lot of folks got them, but moved on to Stumpy's...

They're both good for a lung-hit, but not VERY airy. Great flavor. And you'd really have to try to make 'em leak.

Which is a more airy draw and who is catfish? Is he a modder on the forums?

Hmmm. Both are "medium" lung hit atties to me...
Catfish is here - yes, he mods atties to BF, getting bulk pricing on "hot" authentics.

You can post any questions in that thread, or email Tom (find his email in the logo or in his thread...)

I modified-enlarged the airflow on one of my Manta's...perfect airflow now. It's similar to the NarDa with just a little more air. Perfect for lung-hits.

Could you tell us how you modified it? I have three Mantas and would like to try opening one up if it is not too complicated. I agree on the Manta. Excellent atty but a little tight air. NaRDa has a perfect draw for me.
