I have found that the flavor produced by RxW will improve with time. It seems to 'cure' after a few mls of juice run through.
Yes you can get a 1/16" bit at Home Depot etc. Yes the 2mm will fit. It will not just slide thru, just cut end at an angle and SCREW into the coil like you would a bolt thru a nut, don't just try to push thru.
You can torch while it's on the REO if you use a SMALL butane pipe lighter with a thin blue flame. It won't damage anything with a few quick passes along the coil/wick.

You're having issues wicking because the coil is to big for 2mm RxW. Use the 2nd smallest rod for the coil gizmo. Cut the RxW on an angle. Screw the RxW into the coil like it is a bolt and the coil is a nut. Follow the rotation of the coil, from the post out to the first wrap, twist the RxW the same direction as that first wrap. When twisting it, in the right direction, it will almost be pulled through the coil, if you twist in the wrong direction it will push back on the RxW.

This coil was with the 2nd smallest rod using 2mm RxW, I twisted the wick in a clockwise direction to thread into the coil. I also then ran the smallest gizmo rod through the middle after installing the wick.

Thank you for the explanation. I have a silly question. Do you put the wick in the coil before or after putting it on the RM2? And I'm so sorry, but I don't understand why you are using the smallest gizmo coil through the middle. Is this to help anchor it to the RM2 (or whatever RDA you're using)?

Thank you for any clarification you can give me. I'm so sorry you have to talk to me like I'm a school aged child.

I screw the RxW into the coil after mounting the coil, since I need/like a mandrel through the coil when mounting it (keeps the coil firm and intact while I'm futzing with the placement).

FB uses the smallest rod to open the RxW up for better wicking (kind of like turning it into a straw).

Awesome. Thank you for the clarification. Do you prefer the 2 or 3mm?

The REO got me here the people always willing to help made me stay. Ask all the questions you want and if it doesn't make sense then no issue with saying you need more clarification. We have all been there at one point or another.

I received this product and I am in love! This is seriously the best stuff, ever. Thank you for making this thread. I have some more questions, though.

I bought a torch with some spare butane fillers.

I've only been using 2mm wick for 36 hours, but I have a few questions on the torch clean method. I watched Jeremy's video with the oil. I noticed that it caught on fire. Will my readyxwick catch on fire like it did on the video with e-juices on it?

How often should I torch my readyxwick? Once daily? As needed? How will I know it's needed?

Will torching it also clean my coils? I am assuming, yes, it will. Do I just wipe off (gently) with a paper towel?

Thank you all for your relies and help. I appreciate it.

Take care,
Dani

If you have a lot excess juice on the RBA it can light on fire.

I use mainly use light colored juice, so I only need to clean once a week or less if I feel lazy. If performance drops or you start getting flavor shift clean it. Darker heavier juices might need cleaning every few days.

I run a trickle of water from the faucet, while hold the Reo at a 45 degree angle, I run a bit of water over the coil. Gets the juice off, so the dry burn doesn't need to be as long and since no extra juice, no fire.

Dry burn by just firing the mod, 3 seconds at time until the coil is clean.

Use the torch to clean the dark spots of the wick that will be on the outside edges.

Awesome. That answered my questions and then some. I appreciate it.

Glad you are enjoying the RxW!!!
Hardest thing you will have to do now is fight the urge to fiddle with it! Set it and forget it except to dry burn/clean now and then.
After switching over from cotton along time ago I was so used to changing wicks all the time that I had had to keep telling myself that there is no need! RxW will last month(s) with no problem. :)

Now this is a GREAT post. I like it. :)

Thank you, and I will just have to do that.

Take care,

I tried the coiling gizmo that I've been using with my coils. I quickly learned that none of these will work with the 2mm Readyxwick.

I am having to squonk at every hit. Is this normal, or will the need to sqounk go down as the wick gets used more?

I read that this thing could be blowtorched on the actual RM2. I take it that one would take it off the precious Reo, am I correct?

I was also told that a 3mm wick was better to get and more sturdy. Is this what you guys prefer?

If yours is the same as mine: The smallest shaft that came with the coil gizmo is 2mm. It's exactly right for 2mm readyXwick. Watching their videos will probably be more helpful than my description, but I'm going to assume you are having trouble inserting the wick in a 2mm coil. You should trim the wick at an angle and twist it in to your coil like threading a bolt in to a nut.

Squonking often... Depends. It depends on how much wick you are using and a lot on what ohms you are running. Lower ohms = hotter = more juice vaporized per button press. - I trim my wick a little (not much, but a little) longer than the picutures folks posted in this thread and am using it with a 1.4 ohm coil. I'm getting ~4-5 drags per squonk. -- One of the noteworthy things you will find in threads discussing readyXwick is the idea of running a small shaft back in to the hollow portion of the wick to open it up a little after it's in the coil. I have found that to be useful.

Torching... I have read that too... The 2mm readyXwick gets a little brittle and I really don't find it suitable to remove from the coil and then try to re-use. Some folks say they do it, but I didn't have any luck when I tried it. That leaves torching while still in the coil. If I did that, I would indeed remove the reomizer from the REO before doing so. --- So far, I've found the readyXwick cleans up really quite well just getting a good rinse. It's expensive, but not so expensive I think I'm going to try to make each wick last forever. I've just sort of decided I'll probably make a new wick when it fails to clean up well from rinsing.

2mm vs 3mm... I bought the sample pack and got both. I'm using the 2mm and it works just fine... However, I do see the potential that the 3mm is likely a better wick. There's just plain more wick material in 3mm of the same length as a 2mm wick. ... And this leads back to your squonking question. If there is more material, it logically holds more juice. If there is more juice, you should have to squonk less often.

One thing I have discovered: I switched to 100% VG unflavored a couple of months back, but I still have a partial bottle of my previous favorite juice. That juice is AVE 555 which is advertized as 100% VG... I don't know what AVE's flavor base is, but I'm absolutely certain that my 100% VG unflavored is a lot thicker than my AVE 555. The 2mm readyXwick has been an excellent wicking material for the AVE 555, but I'm not entirely pleased with it using my 100% VG unflavored. The next time I need to rebuild that particular RM2, I intend to make a 7/64 coil and try the 3mm readyXwick for my 100% VG unflavored. I'm going to bet it works better for that application.

EDIT: Huh. Well, your questions were all answered much earlier... days ago. When I loaded this thread, yours appeared as the last post in it. Not sure if I'm having some sort of episode or if I should blame ECFs servers... For my own peace of mind, I'm going to blame ECF ;).

Sorry for the redundancy and reviving this thread unnecessarily.

There stuff was pretty confusing but if I remember correctly it went something like this.

Their 100% VG stuff still has like 20% flavoring with no PG in it...... so really like a 80/20
Their "PG" stuff was because those flavorings had PG in them so that was like a 80/20 in viscosity as well.

Everything they had was pretty thick but your correct not like the liquid tar of 100% VG base
