Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to...Suffering!

Fear and hate always lead to.......failure.

Which is why fear-based activism tends to accumulate very negative type of people who got that way because, well, they have failed a lot ;)......and they have failed a lot because they don't grasp the relationship between their own psychology and the end result of their endeavors, which is failure.

It's a viscious circle. There is a distinct profile in the "psychology of failure" though. Pretty easy to spot.

but yes, it is interesting how many of those vapers in the lounge you were in probably claim they are libertarians, want their "freedoms" but are not willing to allow you, or other vapers, non smokers, or even smokers....... their freedoms

Statistics, FDA, regulations.
Vaping is under attack, so far it tries to position itself as a preferred smoking cessation tool. Growing number of vapers who never smoked changes landscape, gives FDA reason to classify vaping as a new way to get into nicotine dependence.
nicotine dependance is only a concern when used in conjunction
with tobacco. most notably cigarette smoking.
no life tome non-smoker has every developed a
dependency to nicotine alone.

It's human! Most people vape to quit smoking. You VAPE, and you never smoked tobacco? It's like seeing a ghost in 2015. Very rare. Opinions will be there! Its quite obvious. Maybe In 2020 it will just be the way to smoke nicotine. Allot of people I know think people who vape a bunch of cornballs. Vaping is hopefully helping me live longer so screw what people think. But, It might just be ruining peoples lives who never smoked and vape. Might! Hopefully vaping is safe! Life!

Anyways what's all the fuss about it,why on earth does it matter to anyone?

If you sub ohm, you might be taking longer lung hits of a juice that contains more agents worse than cigarettes.

In the end, in joining the club, you are taking part in a huge experiment.

I vaped to quit smoking. I use mostly "subohm" equipment, or at the least mid to high wattage. I enjoy the hobby aspects of it and I enjoy helping people out with it. The only things I get miffed about are people going crazy with battery safety and people being unkind when there's no reason to be. Anything else.... meh. I acknowledge that it's possible larger quantities of e juice being used mean more chance of me inhaling something bad, or at least more of it. That's why I vape less than before, so my consumption is about the same when I was using my evods and egos. To each their own.

Simplest answer I can think of is, because people.

That pretty much sums it up.

I agree. For some, there's no better way to feel better about yourself than to find a reason to put somebody down. It's easy to do, doesn't cost any money, and makes the person feel superior to someone else. I think it's just basic human nature.

    Having said that.....
It's a spectacular waste of time as it will never address the reason why someone needs to do that, just gives them a quick superiority hit, and seeing it makes me mad as hell. How the can someone have so much free time in their frakkin' life that they can do something as incredibly useless as putting down someone else for a lifestyle choice they made!?! What?!?

Soooo....valid reasons? Not sure if this is something anyone should consider to be valid but the reason, I think, is that it makes them feel better because they got to judge somebody as being less smart, less something, as they are. Powerful medicine to some.

Powerful medicine indeed, but from what I've experienced, mostly to those that are unhappy and/or uncomfortable in their own skin. Me? I get off on smiles and hugs. You don't get a lot of those putting people down.

Man it was so hard to quit smoking..Not me but some of the older crowd might would wonder why anyone would even take up nicotine?!?

I'm not sure that they DO take up nicotine! I know I don't...All my juices are Zero nic! :)

Growing number of vapers who never smoked changes landscape, gives FDA reason to classify vaping as a new way to get into nicotine dependence.

Again, I find that a lot of people who started vaping for reasons other than smoke cessation, don't use nicotine in their juice at all...

Just me, healthier alternative to smoking or tobacco harm reduction doesn't say much about safety or long term effects.
If you're a non / never smoker why add risks that are easily avoidable,,,

Valid point, though I would think this is a personal choice, just like the choice to drink Coca-Cola beverages (and a zillion other products we expose ourselves to on a daily basis) which also contain hazardous chemical substances but are perfectly legal and people chose to consume them everyday...

Huum,..Forgive me but I'm trying to wrap my head around those comments without sounding condescending,..or doubtful about your sincerity,..but I have some valid questions I'm sure has popped into someone else's brain parts.

So no nicotine but a vaper?!? Never had nicotine in any form,..chew,..dip,..pipe,..cigar,..or cigs?!?

What could possibly be the appeal?!?

Maybe like I first thought,.the gear?!?
In that case it pretty well blows my mind why someone would spend all that time and money learning coil builds. Trying this or that mod and atty. Blowing through -0-mg juices as expensive as those are anyway.

    Is it the cool factor?!?

    tumblr_nky9erl7US1qji7mxo1_500.gif

IDK?!? What could possibly be cool about mimicking mamma's tea pot?!? ;)

Could it be the rings then?!? Yes I bet it's the rings! :D

Oh,..can I blame Rip Trippers?!? I knew that guy must be infecting the brains of the youths! :D

I suspect it is the gear though..I can't think of anything else that it could be. I have some pretty cool gear myself:

This is the way that I see it. Vaping has become really big and will only continue to grow. Non smokers are seeing a community building around it and just want to be apart of it. I understand because everyone want to be apart of something. Once you find your spot, some of us become an elitist.

I can remember as a youth during the neo punk rock revival of the early 90's I had a Mohawk because I wanted to belong. It was a culture that I could identify with.
