Cappy:

Finally got some measurements for you.

The slots in the caddy are approximately 2.15 inches long by approximately 1.09 inches wide.

Those dimensions fit all metal Reos without a problem. Woodvil Reos are larger, thicker and wider. My Koa, Woodvil measures as follows;

2.17 inches wide, (side firing buttons on Woodvils are high enough so as not to present a clearance problem when sitting in caddy.)

1.17 inches thick.

An increase in length and width of caddy slots of 1/16 of an inch would work but a smidgen more would insure being able to slide wood mods in without touching any side. To my untrained, and rapidly failing eyes there appears to be enough material surrounding the slots on the current caddy to accommodate larger openings.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Well, using 1.23 x 2.23" as slot sizes, which includes a bit of extra "Just in Case", as I usually do, I can make 5 slots and hold the length to 8.5", which is already getting pretty big.

This is just a CAD image of the base, I will make one tomorrow if I have time. Probably same price as the current DC-D-MT. (desk caddy - dual level -mega-tube, in case u wondered what the code means) :D

This will be the DC-D-M-RSM/REO

What ya think?

All I know about CAD is that's what my ex-wives call me. Is it dual level or single? Over all I like it, the 5 slots makes it more versatile for those who gave up a cigarette addiction and replaced it with a mod collecting addiction... or so I've heard.

Took some pictures of my three-slot caddy today and was going to post them on the Reo forum, along with some mindless musings, (they all know me down there and let me get away with a lot), but tonight is Rob's rollout of his new Reomizer, (BF rba), and it wouldn't have been proper to cast a shadow over his limelight.

I'll post them tomorrow and if I can figure out how to do it I'll copy it over here so you'll have a heads up if people start calling or PM'ing you.

(Huh, this was too easy, maybe we should have held out for a eight-slot caddy. RATS!)

I learned decades, and decades ago not to speak for other people, it just gets me in trouble, but speaking for myself... I very much like the idea of an eight-slot caddy.

As aidreon points out, there is certainly a market for five and six slot caddies, that's demonstrated by the sales of your tube mod caddies. As bottom-fed box mods gain more and more prominence in the vaping community the need for ancillary accessories increases not only for bottom0feed vapers but for those considering a switch from tubes or just additions of BF to their tube collection.

Your preliminary description of the eight-slot sounds particularly intriguing in that the curving design would be a natural, and esthetically pleasing compliment to the curved and flowing design of current RSM's.

Speaking just for me... I'd buy one.

BTW... The only person who could buy a multi-slot desk caddy and not continue to buy mods until all the slots were filled isn't born yet... and their mother is dead. That's why we call it an addiction.

That's an excellent point jack. I only had a few tubes and when Cappy sent me the GGTS caddy I felt an immediate need for another GGTS. Smoker to shopaholic, its only natural. Them empty slots are like insults!

Now I just need a caddy of some variety to store the miles of wicks and wires I have for rebuilding...

Have a happy hump day crew!

Cappy:

Here's a copy of the post I made down on the Reo forum, (if I can figure out how to copy it here and have the pictures show up.) Even though most people are at work and check the forum in the evening I've already received a couple PM's and have given them your contact info.

If you want to follow any ongoing interest you can go to the Reo forum, it starts on page 2626.

Good luck to ya.

Good Morning, Reonuts

WOOT-WOOT-WOOT
I GOT A NEW TOY
YIPPY!!!

As with many Reonuts, my collection of mods is becoming a bit unmanageable. Cursed with the desire to vape six or seven different juices during the day, and switching from flavor to flavor a few times an hour my neurotic habit resulted in me having to keep a rats nest of mods stacked next to my computer. Invariably either I, or Dawg would bump the computer desk or I would reach for my coffee and two or three of the mods would take a high dive to the floor. So far only one Trippy Tip was broken, (which Bert so graciously fixed), but I've broken several other cheaper Ming style tips.

Being the highly trained investigator that I am, (have I ever mentioned that before?), I deduced that there was a problem and set out to find a solution. As one might expect, (keeping my advanced training and natural sleuthing abilities in mind), I was successful in my quest for the ultimate mod organizer.

I present to you. THE DESK CADDY... or what ever the hell else you want to call it.

(Yes, yes, I know, it's not sitting on a desk but I couldn't figure where else to put it to take the pictures... sue me.)

Our Reo forum veterans will notice, (and much to Nutz's dismay), that my world famous, and highly coveted Koa, Reo is not safely tucked away in the desk caddy. The slots in this particular model are just a hair, (1/16th of an inch), small to accommodate Woodvils. I have already spoken to the creator of these desk caddy's and he is not only making the slots bigger, with room to spare to avoid any possibility of rubbing for Woodvils but is also in the process of designing a five, six and eight-slot caddy for those whose mod collection mysteriously keeps growing. (I blame my mod collecting addiction... ah... obsession... er... hobby, on Nerak and Feisty Alice. Just another example of women costing me bundles of money.)

Although it may not violate ECF rules by posting the contact information for the maker of these mod organizers I don't feel that it would be proper to do so on Rob's forum so if you're interested in learning more about these or would like the contact information just send me a PM. If I like you I'll cheerfully reply with the information. If I don't like you I'll still reply but I'll do it with a snarl on my face and malice in my heart. (Unfortunately there's no one around here that I don't like so I won't be able to use my one and only talent.)

Oh, almost forgot, the holes in front of the mod slots are used to display juice bottles, tanks, RBA's, etc. The front row of holes are used for displaying drip tips... especially Trippy Tips. (I added that part especially for my little buddy, Pietro and for Bert, the tipmaster at Trippy Tips.)

Note: Today is our third day in a row of snow. As much as we need it it better not interfere with me going dancing tonight... I'll get really testy.

Did I say good morning? Yes, yes I did... nevermind.

Good morning
This is my first post here. I ordered a Desk Caddy-D-MT a few days ago and am stalking my inbox for a shipping notice. I know beautiful things take time, so no impatience here. My only complaint is: I've been vaping for over two years and am just now finding Red sky. Oh well, better late than never. Looking forward to some beautiful wood, my first box mod and making some good friends

I'm awake, I'm awake, ahoy all! Happy Thursday .... (yawn) .. come to me my sweet coffee..... arrr

Good morning crew!

Awoken to 4 inches of water in the basement this morning due to the sump pump quitting out over the night. Stupid constant two weeks of rain!

Major bummer! I was raised in Minnesota and sump pumps were a constant source of grief. Nothing like finding several feet of water in the basement. Might wanna think about getting one of the alarms that detect water when the pump fails.

I remember, long ago, my dad suspending a sump pump on a rope to drain the water out of a full basement. What fun!
