Ahoy aidreon, unfortunately it looks like tomorrow I will start building, they are just not dry enough to handle today.

Instead I took the time to finish up a couple of new caddies. One is by special request for someone wanting a small coffee table sized EGO holder and the other is a somewhat larger version of the coffee table GGTS holder.

I only own one EGO and no fancy tube mods, so I do the best I can for the photos.

Back to work... I'm prepping wires for tomorrow in high hopes I can start final assembly. Let's see, Thursday/Friday build, Saturday glue is dry and they get a last coat of finish, Sunday (perhaps Monday too) to dry and then ship. ARRRRR!

Arrr, another fine day gone, where did the time go?

I'm assembling the mods today, but I'm really having a hard time getting any kind of rhythm going. I'm making 6 different models and don't get to prep more than two sets of wires & hardware before I have to switch gears for another model. I'm going to try hard to avoid this every happening again in future batches!

Nothing else new here, have a fine Friday tomorrow.

Last update;

I decided to keep going for a bit and completed the first mod which was the Cutlass with DNA20. I'm very pleased it worked as planned the first time I put a battery in. I even vaped on it a bit before filling the atty connector with glue and setting it off to dry. What a relief!

Looks like the Cutlass20 will be on the menu next batch, yo ho!

I'm wiped, see ya all later. arrr

Awesome to hear Cappy!

This 3rd shift thing is awful! And to make matters worse, you can't use electronic cigarettes anywhere on the property at the assembly line. Some one loaded an "illegal substance" into one a few months back so they outlawed them for any reason. Not even outside! Thankfully I use Swedish snus on occasion so it gets me through the day.

One rotten apple spoils the bunch :(

Yeah, 3rd shift sucks if you're trying to live a normal life, but the commute is usually hassle-free :D

Sucks about the e-cigs too, but I used to go into the bathroom at work and vape. It got me through the day anyway...

It's actually not as easy as I'd hoped commute wise, having quadruple the population of the foundry town. :D

My committeman actually told me about the ban when he caught me. He said if the management would have caught me I'd have most likely gotten time off and maybe fired. Guess they take it seriously

Ahoy... Happy Friday!

I just snapped a few pics of the Cutlas20 to post. I figured I better post some eye candy and try to get some activity on the thread before everyone thinks I've gone out of business or something!

These are a few different angles of the Cutlas20. This is a prototype so the next build of them will be a bit cleaner but I had to make one to work out the production kinks.

Here is the spring I may start using to replace the small AA battery spring coil I used before. I don't know if anyone has used this style in mods before but it looks like it could handle far more current than the present spring I am using without melting. I'm not sure about the strength of the spring tab over a long period of use, so I am thinking of adding a coil spring to the inside of it and gluing it in place to make it more robust.

Anyone have any experience with these types?

Well, off I go, still have lots to do. It won't be until tomorrow that the batch gets it's final coat of finish. Shipping Monday is kinda 'iffy' now, depends on how long the last coat takes to dry. Seems like I constantly underestimate drying time for finish coats

Ahoy!

I finished all the final assembly with no failures. Yipee!!

I decided to bite the bullet and put the final coat of finish on them now, give them an extra half day to dry and give that Monday shipping plan all the help I can.

Time fer a shower (yes, I bathe), and relax for a bit. Later all, arrr

On their way to the drying room.
