Happy Friday the 13th crew!

I'm not the superstitious type but I blew work off anyway. Yes, that's two Fridays in a row. Yes, that was my last vacation day :(

Photobucket just did a pretty big update (aka fixed what wasn't all that broken) and just made it worse (as updates generally do) so that may be the culprit.

Ahoy all, happy Friday!

The batch got it's first coat of sealer/finish and they are off drying now. When dry they get their final sanding and then two more coats of finish and then on to electronic assembly.

I also have 7 desk caddy orders pending so I have the CNC running in the background while I do other things, getting busy here suddenly and have to multi-task like a bad dog. Hopefully the nasty summer slow-down is finally coming to an end and I can start to breath again.

Have a good one, Arrrrr

The last big update was a mandatory change in the layout. I really liked the old one too......

Ahoy!

I hope everyone has had a nice weekend. Holidays coming up so I suppose it's the quiet before the storm around here, but I like the quiet...

Turning and burning here, wanting to get the desk caddies done so I can get back to work on the batch, kinda blew my whole weekend on them but that's nothing new.

My youngest son David is taking his college semester finals this week and next spring is his last semester. Once he finishes school he is moving up north to be with his girlfriend of 7 years. The house sure is going to be quiet with both boys gone :(

Anyhow, hope life is treating everyone well, have a great Monday, arrr

Ahoy!

I assume everyone survived the Monday?

Turnin' & Burnin' here, works stacking up!

The batch gets it's last coat of pre-assembly finish tomorrow and I will have the electronics done and ready to install by the time they are dry.

It's only Monday and I have 5 new desk caddy orders over the last 3 days and shipped out 7 of them today that I had made over the weekend. Talk about a radical change compared to this summer when I was only selling a handful over a whole month.

I will take pics of the batch tomorrow before I put them in the drying room. The new multi-layered bodies are looking as great as I had hoped and I've thought of other creative things I can do to the mods in the next batch too, can't wait to get my hands on them.

One thing I could never do with pre-ordered mods was add a creative flair. I just had to make them with option A, option C, wood E, edge B, try not to mess it up and get them done by the deadline. It's fun to start thinking about doing all sorts of strange and unusual things to them, heh.

I'm also mulling over some changes to RSM for the beginning of the new year, which will also be the start of the 4th year of RSM. Time to sit back and review the last 3 years and see what can be done to add some new life and a new sparkle to an old supplier, arrrrr!

Have a great week all, yo ho! or should I say "Ho Ho Ho!"

Sounds like progress Cappy!!

Glad you have so many Caddy sales. As for changes is one of them a 26650 version? :D

Well, rather than my usual long winded answer, yes, that is one item on my growing list, and the answer is YES! :D

Good evening/morning crew!

I'm excited to see this new batch, can't wait to see what's rolling around in your head Cappy :D

26650 Cutlass/Destroyer "Blunderbuss" edition? :p

Why aren't you in bed young man??

Part of what is in my head .....

Over the last few years the batches have mostly, if not totally, been pre-orders, but the pre-orders have been dropping rapidly the last few batches and this last batch there are more mods for the website than pre-orders.

I think part of the reason for that is that the novelty of RSM is long gone and on top of that they are all basically the same. Granted they are using different wood combinations, but there aren't anymore mods with engraved sides, fancy patters and inlays and such. That all seemed to stop when I started doing mostly pre-orders and I want to get back to doing all that again. And even better is that I've gotten much more experience working with mods in the last 3 years and think I can push the boundaries of engraving/inlays even more than I used to do. I would really like to get back to making some "One of a kind" mods again.

So yeah, there will be changes this year for RSM, arrrr!

Good morning me 'earties, looks like a fine damn pirate-y day out today!

I mentioned pics last night and here they are;

This is the batch of desk caddies done last weekend, takes almost 3 days to do that many.

I snapped these pics as they were heading into the drying room, the finish is wet making them look blotchy. Pre-orders and mods for the website are all mixed together and not in any order;

Top view;

Left side;

Right side;

If you look hard you can see the bodies of some are made from different woods joined together.

Back to work I go, have a great day all, arrr!!

Absolutely awesome! Them multi body mods are spectacular :D

Is that quilted maple/mahogany(?) on the left going to be a DNA 20? I really like the look of it :D

The two in the center/left are both Marauders. The Black walnut/Yellow heart mod is a Destroyer20 for the website, sorry :(
