My new Lady arrived today.
I truly love the wood-combi and texture.
No picture can reflect this adequate - well - at least I tried...

enjoy :p

Ahoy!

Think I'm gonna quit for the day, but it was a good day.

All the boxes and panels are sized and I put the back panel cutouts into all the boxes. Tomorrow I shape the back panels and glue them in. When dry I then start to route out the box insides.

I also made a prototype Cutlass20. The box turned out exactly as planned as did the little electronics cover. I was playing with installing the led and stuff for the last couple hours, what a pain! This is gonna take the whole blurry eye/shaky hand syndrome to a whole new level for me, arrr!

But then, the first one always sucks. Once I get it down pat and start doing it again and again it comes much easier. Right now I'm experimenting with the right way to get it done. This is one of many times in prototyping that I wish I had some other makers mod to look at and see how they did it and save me a bunch of trial and error.

I wish..., but who can afford those guys outrageous prices for a chunk of wood, madness!! Oh, wait ...

Have a great night all, arr

Oh yeah, I only have one DNA20 board and they are still out of stock, so if I break it I don't have a spare. Another level of stress, thank you!

Beautiful destroyer!

Good afternoon crew!

Good news for the Michigan fleet, got a letter to return to work in September. Getting out of the foundry and into pickup assembly line.

Now to buy something expensive to celebrate!

That is truly awesome Waho! Talk about easing the stress a few levels, damn glad to hear it :)

True that. Sucks that it's over a hours drive, but money is money!

Went and looked at new grills to celebrate, but they didn't have any stupid large charcoal grills. Stupid propane grills!

Hello, I'm new here but I've been vaping for awhile. I really wanted to try a bottom feeder and found this thread.
I fell in love with the quilted maple but no special orders right now, so I bought a wavy maple Cruiser2.
I have a couple questions while I wait for this unique mod.
I mostly use low ohm rebuildables, what ohm range is safe with the Cruiser?
Is sub-ohm possible?
What is the amp limit of the switch?
I'd like to try a dripper spiral or similar rba does anyone have experience/recommendations?
Thanks

Hello and welcome to RSM!

If I recall correctly, the cruiser has a 5 amp switch. Theoretically, that's a 0.8 ohm limit at 3.7 volts (4.8 amps). I use mine with 1 ohm coils regularly without issue.

As for rebuildables, I've heard people use the dripper spiral and also the killer 705 on bottomfeeders successfully. I personally use the ERA or A7 atomizers. The vicious ant cyclone bottomfeeder atty is very similar to the ERA and should work well.

There is a sticky thread in the reo forum with a list of bottom feed rebuildables. Everything that fits a reo grand should fit the RSM, they have for me.

Ahoy me 'earties, hope the day found you all well.

Today didn't turn out exactly as planned. I realized this morning that the semi-annual junk & yard pickup day was tomorrow so David and I found ourselves sweating out in the 90 degree day hauling wood, bricks and misc trash out to the curb. Took us a couple hours and man was I beat when we were done, so damn hot out there.

Anyway, I did finish up the electronics module this afternoon for the Cutlass20, want a first look?

It probably looks just like most others you've seen, but there isn't much room for creativity with something like this....

At least I think I worked out how to make them in the future. Once the box itself is finished with this batch I can finish wiring it up and see if the thing actually works! This is just a prototype, the production models will look much cleaner as you would expect from a RSM :D

Ok, Cappy is going below decks. Someone assemble the musicians and dancing girls while I make popcorn. Arrrr

Dibs!

In all seriousness, that's pretty awesome. Most DNA boxes appear larger than that one does, even without the bottle inside.

Oh, I'm sure if you custom order one you would probably be even happier. This one is made from the Australian red mahogany. I looked at the current cutlass design and found I could just enlarge the bottom electronics pocket, build the DNA20 board into the cover and drop the whole package into the hole and not have to make the box bigger. Seems to have worked pretty good so far :)

Good morning crew!

Having a "Woohoo! Back to work!" barbeque today. I even bought a new grill to celebrate. End of the season sales are on and got a great deal on a charcoal fired monster. I think I bought around 10 lbs of various meats and two cases of beer for 5 people.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Looking forward to the dna20 Cappy. I've actually been holding out on buying a regulated mod in hopes that you would make one with the dna20.
There are many nice mods out there of all sizes, shapes, and materials, but when you have one that is ultra comfortable to hold, no compromise form factor, crafted to perfection, delivers the best vape (as BFs inherently do IMO), AND is flat out beautiful to look at...well, you've got it all then don't you?
And that's exactly why the Cruisers are my favorite all time mod. There is only one thing that would make it 100% perfect. I would pay double for a mechanical version :)
Sorry for the poor pics (need a light box like Cappy).

and after the photo I had a mishap and dropped one on the tile floor  . So I thought I should show what the benefit of a solid body is P8170226.jpg

the broken one from another modder is not a solid body and was dropped on a wood deck about 2 months ago.

cheers crew, have a great Sunday!

Ahoy! Yes, hope everyone is having a good weekend, arrr

For the broken box, could you loosen the nut holding the switch in place then using a very minor amount of superglue tack the broken piece back in place then tighten the screw down again? Should make it almost as good as new :)

I thought the Cruiser was a mechanical mod, there aren't any electronic parts anyway?
