I laid my Yamaha down in 2010 messing my left knee up pretty good. I was 22 and even at 25 now the knee bugs me in the morning or when it gets cold (stupid Michigan). That was my second stint in physical therapy (shattered my left elbow in 1996 at 8 years old) and each time was tough. Pain killers only do so much, it's definitely a mental game. Stay stronger than your body and everything will turn out well!

All the best my friend :)

Ahoy!

Well, sitting here waiting for the weather to clear up so I can get back to work with the CNC machine, what a pain this weather is....

RSM news:

I am going to try to incorporate a couple mod changes into this batch.

First, for all the cruisers that I am making and will be making, I am going to start to include a 3 amp re-settable fuse. I may have to route out a little pocket for it to set in but I think it needs to be done. I've gotten a few melted springs in lately from Cruisers. The fuses are now on order :)

Secondly, I am also going to begin to try to include a reverse battery protection circuit in all dna models of any type from now on. The dna circuit boards are pricey little items and I wish to avoid repairs on them if possible. Less work for me, savings of money for you!

This batch is days behind my schedule due to all the crappy weather we are having and even desk caddy orders are stacking up. Very often during our daily storms we get a lightening hit close enough to momentarily disrupt power and I fear what will happen to a mod being routed when that happens.

Maybe I need to look into the affordability of a small UPS power source? hmmm.... Anyway, I think I may need to start working at night like I used to in order to get things moving again.

Arrrrr!

Ahoy all, good morning!

I had the machine running by the time I was sipping my first cup of coffee, no time to waste, the storms are on the way!

Good morning crew!

I think I avoided a batch hold up with my caddie order at least :)

Aye lad, that one was one of just two that I had stashed in me treasure box ready to go :D

Have a good weekend all, arrr

Ahoy all!

Say, I'm posting back to back on the following day... Cappy sad ... :(

Spent the entire day (and still am) making desk caddies, need to get caught up.

Speaking of which, I was cleaning my shelves and came across 3 desk caddies I want to get rid of.

All 3 are prototypes. One is a prototype D-T I used as a pencil holder, the other is for smallish tube mods and the third is a discarded design for a drawer caddy. Anyone want them?

All I ask is that I send you a paypal invoice for $8 shipping and that makes printing shipping labels easier for me too.

Wow! I regularly follow this thread because your mods are so beautiful and well made. Someday maybe, I'll have one. That's so nice of you to be giving away those prototypes. If I owned any of the RSM's I'd put my name in the ring. But 'any' of the other good folks in this thread are much more deserving. Very nice of you to be doing this. (sorry, just had to speak up even though I'm not a regular 'poster' around here).

Well, it's also been kinda slow and when I get too much time on me hand I do silly stuff. Half the boxes I've shipped lately have a 'goodie' shoved inside if there's room.

I don't know about you all, but I had a pretty good weekend, storms non withstanding.

Sitting on youtube, listening to old music. Some of these songs I've not heard in many years. Wow man, what a rush...

I was a wanna-be biker when I was growing up and I rode with the Hell' angels for a short time long ago. North-west chapter? Don't remember...almost 40 years ago. Joining them now is like joining the "Hooters" club and getting a free t-shirt, lol.

Ahoy and welcome to Monday me 'earties.

I have a problem that I need to resolve. The current fad of sub-ohm vaping and the desire for mechanical mods to support it has been a bit of a concern.

I originally designed the mods to handle a somewhat lower wattage demand as was normal then. The sub-ohm trend is pushing the hardware components, wiring, battery springs, etc., to the edge and we now have batteries that can deliver more current for longer bursts than were previously available.

This of course only applies to the Cruiser's & Marauders as the other models have regulators with built in limits that I incorporated into the design.

So the question is, do I beef up the non-regulated mod design to handle the stress if possible, or should I do something else.

As everyone who lurks on this thread knows, I'm sometimes behind the curve when it comes to the new/popular trends out there. Any opinions or additional info?

Well, after more pondering I think I should do this.

The Cruiser needs to have the wiring increased and a bigger spring installed. I think I need to get up to allowing 7 amps/28 watts of power at 4 volts. Currently the wiring might melt and the spring collapse if that kind of demand is made on it for a .5 ohm atty coil.

The pushbutton switches I use are rated at 96 watts of power as I recall and should pose no problem.

The current limitations to the DNA12 and DNA20 are already incorporated into the designs and should pose no problems, especially as the boards will not operate with under 1 ohms at the output. I just have to design for a 6 amp output max for the DNA20, which means beefier wires and a larger spring. The current small spring will easily melt down if the watts are pushed towards the maximum for the DNA20.

I guess I answered my own questions, heh.

Arrrr, have a great day all.
