Well, the only question I have is what kind of little plastic pushy thingies do I use for setting the voltage on the dna 20 and how to mount them. I't will take a bit of research, also a new model to go along with it would be cool.

I have a mod with a little metal tactile switch I was pretty impressed with, nice clicky to it. I'll see if I can't get a good photo or digikey link.

You can also use a pot for wattage adjustment on the dna 20.

Retro mods, DNA 20 boards, or reto mods outfitted with DNA 20, along with beta testing..... Sounds like music to my
ears. I love these brainstorm moments. I really have to think about Rose sitting though, Waho. :p

I'll give her three square meals and many oogles throughout the day, promise!

The one I saw was a metal box but the carto tank was inside the box along with a VV thingy - so when you close the box, all that sticks out is the drip tip.

The Billet Box looks quite impressive but I imagine it would be very difficult to reproduce in wood and still be a strong mod. It would likely need to be better and if you wanted to use the tank system you would have to find someone to make it.

As for ways to get sales let me start off by asking a question. It seems to me that there hasn't been a large shortage of buyers lately has there? It seems like normally you open pre-orders and close them when you feel you have enough mods (maybe make a few for the website). Then you start making them. When they are done you re-do the whole process. I also know there usually isn't much on the website so it would seem they are being bought up as well. That being said there usually isn't a lot of non mod making down time other then the little while of pre-orders and maybe a few days taken off to catch up on caddys. Or am I completely off on this?

A couple things that might be worth trying.
1 Leave the ability to pre-order open all the times. But put an estimated project start date and completion date. This way you don't have to stop production while you get interist. With this you could either take full payment, down payment, or no payment but verify the order shortly before starting production.
2 Contact some reviewers and try to work out something with them for a review. Most of the reviewers I watch (Pbusardo, Igetcha69, and Todd) have giveaways. So maybe asking them if they would be willing to do a review and then give away the item they review. I know I have seen most of them do borrowed item reviews so maybe they would be willing to review it and send it back. Then you could turn around and give said mod away. Which generates twice the interist. You get the review and maybe even a ecf forum giveaway. You could probably fo the same thing with Caddys. Again I don't know if they would have any conditons but it couldn't hurt to contact them. I personally get ideas for stuff I would like to try from them and I believe that a large amount of other do too. So a posative review from them couldn't hurt.

Finally my thoughts on the DNA powered stuff.
I would love to get a DNA20 powered mod. However given my expierence with the Kick I am a little worried about battery life with any board that only takes power from a single 18650 battery. My Zmax is less then steller with a single battery, and my kick not only doesn't have the power I want but it's battery life even on an 18650 sucks compaired to my Cutlass. Because of that if I was in the position to buy a new mod and given my great expierence with the VV board in the 5.1 Cutlass I would pick that over a DNA 20D device at the moment. However with my expierence with the Darwin I think there is a lot of potential for a DNA 20D device powered by battery packs. Also having a charging port means less battery chargers I have to keep around. So I personally would love to see a RSM line (BF and tank versions) with a DNA 20D and battery packs with a charge port. Now I am only one person but maybe a poll could help judge interist for this.

Anyways sorry for the long post. Thanks again Cappy for your wonderful mods.

Ahoy and good morning me 'earties.

No, mod sales aren't usually a problem, I was originally just talking about ways to let people know I have desk caddies available for other brands of box & tube mods and how word of mouth is about my only way of spreading information on the forums.

Desk caddies are starting to pay a significant portion of the monthly bills. The way I see it, even if the market moves away from box mods for the newest fad for a time (and we have all seen that happen in the last couple years), people still need a place to store their stuff and I can make a couple of those per day which allows me to stay afloat even when mod sales slow down.

If I had a pocket full of cash, I would have started buying accessories, starter kits and whatnot from China long ago to fill the shelves like other people have done, but from day one of RSM it's been just a one man show on a limited budget. Did you notice Madvapes opened their third B&M outlet? Arrggg, I remember when Mark sent me a mod to repair once, now look at them .....

The rest was just chatting about box mods and the future, heh.

Good morning crew!

I could change my sig banner and add a line like "VV & DNA mods and desk caddies" or some such. I also have been meaning to make a video review of my RSM fleet/caddies, but all I have is this cell phone for video.

But I shaved my beard and cut my hair so I look respectable/reasonable/responsible and not pirate like in the least :(
