It's Purpleheart wood, it does get darker over time and should not be exposed to too much light but it is purple

Wood is Purpleheart with Black walnut ends on the RSM - The phidias is also purpleheart and there is a significant difference in color tone... ? ... The picture may be enhancing the color a smidge, but it's pretty purple (edited post to include info)

The other one is purpleheart? It looks more like Padauk or something, much more red.

Huge difference between the Phid and RSM in color. Thats why I really enjoy wood products, each one has its own character.
