Capt', I'm looking to get some new 16340s and was wondering what you recommend since you make the mods. I was looking at getting the AW icr 123 16340 protected battery and wanted your input.

'Grats.
I just received an email from the Touchwood maker. I'm going to get an 18650 model. Are you still considering one too?
I cannot advise you about the AW batts, I have only used Ultrafire and Trustfire batteries. I will have to try some one of these days but I only recently learned that you CAN discharge a AW IMR battery down to 2.5v which when stacked would provide 5v, the minimum required to run the VV circuit. That means the circuit would cut out when the batteries drop below that voltage and you should immediately recharge the batteries to avoid damaging them.
Arrrr..hey Cappy do you have an estimated time you will send out preorders for batch 8?
You're good Cappy. I think the last thing any of us want is an RSM that isn't truly ready for the seas. Take your time and we'll be here when they're ready.![]()
Ahoy, good morning me 'earties, 'Tis a fine day to be alive & Kicking!
Well, I was originally planning on taking 2-3 weeks for the change, but I'm thinking 3-4 weeks is going to be more realistic.
Before I had made my first sale back in March I had probably spent 2 months getting everything ready to go, and that was just a couple simple designs so I've been drawing heavily on what I have learned since then to get this all done as quick and efficiently as I can while still getting some sleep![]()
Well Cappy, I am simply amazed at your talent! I got my busted mod back today and she looks like nothing happened at all! I mean, she was split all the way down the spine on the door and was folding in on herself. My husband is convinced that you made an entirely new door but I kept telling him "no, look, the markings are exactly the same!" His reply was, "Well, this guy obviously is extremely good at crafting wood and knows some secrets or something." How did you do that???
Well, hubby is half right, but let me just say it's a secret I learned on a small island in the south pacific. Please try to be careful though, I am running low on Virgin Sacrifices and dragon scales![]()
