i only see one mod when i log on here from the us?

There are more than one available, for the test batch I cloned them, they are all Black Walnut cause I just LOVE working with Black Walnut. The test batch of the Destroyer is going to be Mahogany with Zebra end caps. (another favorite of mine)

Agree with ya there SD. While it should look the same externally, I wish to have side panel access and the ability to replace individual components if needed. Not only will that make production faster it will save on repair bills in the long run if a mod fails out of warranty. I've got a good prototype of the body for the basic no frills Mark-6 wench, and a bit more tweaking to do on the Mark-7 Destroyer (inset tank mod). The Mark-6.1 will be simply a wench with a voltage display and dual mode.

Mark-6 Wench, 16340 VV non-feeder, On/Off switch (optional voltage display & dual mode, the unit will be slightly larger)
There have been a lot of posts here and after reading through as many as I could before my eyes have given up for the night I have a couple of remarks and questions. First these are absolutely gorgeous works of art. I cannot stress enough how wonderful these mods are for the eyes. The evolution of the mods has been a pleasure to browse over the last few hours. All of that being said I have a couple of questions.

Where can I find a list of available woods for these mods should I be of a mind to preorder(which I am). Where can I find a picture(s) of the mark 6 Wench so that I can see the size/shape and design of the non-bottom feeder? How much would a Wench 6.1 cost? Thanks,

Ray

Yes I did... Thanks!!

I still keep prowling around this thread, and I must say that it just amazes me to watch the evolution of your mods in the time since I came aboard, and especially in the relatively short time that you have been a part of the ECF!!! th_1sm264pirate.gif

I must have gotten one of the last batches with the inlays and before you started putting the voltage displays in them... which I am glad, because then I wouldn't have any use for my beautiful purpleheart voltage display box!!! thumb_love_pirate_ani.gif

I am, and always will be, a proud RSM owner... and I owe that all to you!!! th_piratecheerssmiley.gif

I've had a couple people ask about making the older models, but ...

So far I have progressed in models up to the Mark-8 and that does not include minor variations along the way. It would be madness to try to make all of those models available and probably sink the ship if I even tried.

Irregardless of what I have hoped to do and may have even stated out loud, it looks like the models I will be offering are going to boil down to the 3 basic types I've been talking about the last few weeks.

The Mark-6 Wench is going to be for people who want VV but do not want a feeder or catch cups. Probably mainly for Tanks.

The Mark-7 destroyer, VV with an inset well so a .75" tank can set down inside the mod for more stealth and protection.

and lastly, the Mark-8 is replacing the old Cutlass.

The biggest complaint about the old Cutlass was the width, so they are now .6" more narrow and will be 2x1" but now they are taller. The second biggest complaint was the bottom mounted switches and display were being damaged or dinged up by setting it down on something wet or sharp. People are not used to having to protect the bottom of a mod I guess. The third biggest complaint was the dual mode switch, which might be renamed "The Atty Killer". Alot of people have killed an atty forgetting to switch it back and very few people found the 3.7v mode useful, so it is being dropped from future mods.

I have spent weeks now retooling and redesigning the mods to address all the complaints and feedback I have gotten and at this point I am unwilling to backtrack to make any of the models that have been replaced by superior designs. That would be silly of me I think.

So in a nutshell, we have the 3 mentioned models and that will be all until I add yet more new ones in the future.

Speaking of the 3 models, did we ever decide on new names for the trio?

I am sorry if I am disappointing some people, but besides pleasing as many people with mods as I can manage I also have to take care that I can KEEP making mods so I must also be smart about what I make with my limited time.

I think the new designs are great Cappy. You just need to get a few in the hands of the masses and I am sure word will spread like wildfire about how great they feel in the hand. There is no question they are all going to work as well as their predecessors.

I'm thrilled that I was able to be in batch 7 and get my beautiful ebony Mark 5.1, but I am equally thrilled to be in batch 10 to get one of the new RSMs. I expect as long as you're making them, batch 10 won't be the last batch I'm in either.

I really hoped to get the 5.1 in a dark wood combination with the two switches ( to check remaining voltage in the batteries without removing them from the unit ) , so this is indeed a sad moment for me. Saw about 3-4 on sale but lighter coloured woods and passed the information to others that wanted them, waiting for a custom one to be made.
I am sure the mark-8 will work just as great, but it won't be the same for me. Nevertheless , if its the only option, i will get one.

Can you confirm that i am on batch 8 list Brian ?

Arr, bunch of great names we could use, but I wonder if it is too late to change them? don't want to confuse people MORE, I seem to be good at confusing things, lol

I do have a couple out being reviewed, perhaps we will hear something back from them :D

I agree, once people get one of these in their hands they will see that the others were right in suggesting I find some way to slim them down :)

Arrr, another one sold off the website and yup! It's going to Italy too! What is going on over there, do they know something terrible we don't? Is the price of switches going to skyrocket? Is there soon to be a world-wide shortage of atty connectors? What secret do the Italians know we don't? Hmmm... makes one ponder ...

Ahem... well, if I may, I will just say that once you wrap your hand around one of the new Cutlass models, you'll wonder how you ever got along without one. I do not find the original Cutlass uncomfortable to hold though I am in the camp that thought it was a bit wide. That said, the new model is so, so comfortable and just more ergonomic. I never want to put it down! It has all of the mad vaping power of the original and is more comfortable to hold. Still has the beautiful wood work and attention to detail we've come to know as standard for Cappy. Amazingly well made. The door still snaps into place with a satisfying click. What's not to like? I highly recommend it! I can't wait to see some of the wood combos that start coming out. I want to see one with matching end caps and door and a different body. In short, Cappy has made another winner!
