Cap'n Bri,

1) No, your prices for the kits are super-reasonable.

2) In my case, YES. I'm lusting for a bubinga body with rosewood end caps.
Closest I can get in the kit selection is mahogany with walnut ends,
and I haven't yet been willing to accept that, even though it's
financially advisable.

3) It's the new millennium, you scurvy dog---EVERYBODY darned well
better start learning/remembering how to build things by hand!

4) Yes, whatever we say, however much we know, finally it's ALL still a mystery.

I would love to offer that, but Rosewoods are level 4, and I have had problems myself until I upgraded my ventilation system and started wearing better dust masks.... lovely stuff but nasty to work...Oh, and bubinga can cause lesions to the skin.

If the only reason is safety , couldnt you just make people click a box saying they understand the danger and agree not to hold RedSky responsible if they die from dust lol?

I realize it also may be because youd like to reserve some things to entice people to buy the premade setup as I am sure its more profitable for you. Ultimately Ill pick something from whatever you deem worthy to offer.

Yo ho! Ok, I added seven more wood types to the drop down menu's. I also have to factor in availability. If I only have enough for a couple mods then I don't want to offer it until/unless I have more on hand. Some of the stuff I have is pretty exotic and I will only offer it on premade mods.

Bocote
Cebruva
Honduras Mahogany
Peruvian Walnut
Sycamore
Yellowheart
Zebrawood

Ok, by request I added both the 5 volt and Variable volt kits that are from Madvapes to the DIY listing, both raw kits and for those that don't like to solder an assembled version. I have enough in stock to supply several of each until the next order arrives.

NOW, I am going to cut end caps, right after I figure out why the table saw is making that funny noise, :(

I was talking to the Commodore (the wife), telling her about the new diy kits I had ready to go finally. She said it would be nice if I did something fer the ladies this mothers day weekend, so I gave it a thought.

I would love to see more people building kits.

From now till the end of the weekend all Ladies, wenches and girls of the female persuasion can have anything on the DIY KIT page of the website for 25% off. I'll deduct it off your total when I send the invoice.

Also mention your ECF name in the comment section of the order form too please.

Happy Mothers day (Did you call yours yet? Don't forget!)

Hi Brian and Everyone,
Wow, that is a great offer! Good idea and great for business, right? I will pm you...

Thanks, hopefully I will get a couple takers, I would like more pics on the subforum thread, there are kits out there being built, maybe I just need patience. After all, it takes me several days from kit stage to finished myself .... patience ...

Have a happy M-day

That is a great deal captain! One other quick question, did u say u have assembled vv kits on the site?

Yes, you can buy an already assembled VV circuit board to put in the kit, or you can get it as a kit and put it together yourself along with the box kit. The purchase form lists what is available and what the price is.

Arrrr...

P.S., how are you liking your VV so far, still have the new car smell? :)

I love it!!! It hardly ever leaves my hand! Everyone who has seen it comments on the great craftmanship. You are the new kid on the block but if you build them, they will come!
so dont get discouraged. you need to get you a premade signature banner to get you more exposure, i'd use it!

I suppose I could take a break, I'm soldering up more atty connectors, pretty boring. Think I will take your advice and do it now while I got some steam in me engine :D

it definitely smells great! i'm glad Brian doesn't use that smelly lacquer on his mods. This is perfect as it is! I can smell cedar, not strong like an old cedar box, but definitely cedar.

Brian, hope you don't mind, but I posted about your Mother's Day Sale in the "Deals & Steals" section of "Pay It Forward". Quite a few people on there are handy & love a great deal! I referred them to photos of the one my husband did from your DIY kit.

No, I don't mind at all, thanks for giving me more advertising, I could use all I can get.

I'm trying to get more kits out on the streets so we can have more photos in the sub forum, I'll keep trying.

You and me have the only cedar mods, be careful with yours, mine is already nicked up from using in the shop, heh
