Brian Im working on a little more professional banner than I did before. WHat do you think of this logo? Different font? Different color?

Beautiful, but perhaps a bit too Disney?

Argh! I got here first again. Tomorrow, it will be here tomorrow. That gives me time to dig out the router bits.... Yep, daughter of a woodworker here. No sons? No problem! Teach the girl! (And they wonder why I drive a semi...)

Router bits? Whoa, I did too much work on it then, next time I will send a bag o' parts and a couple hunks of wood, arrr!

I like a skull and cross bone's the unaversil symbol for pirate's maybe the redsky can be a pirate looking through a ruby ? just random idea's

He Ruppy...how about the jolly roger in a wavy flag across the sun, without the cloud...
Then you could shrink the rsm banner.
just sayin...

I can put the flag in fairly easy. Really cant shrink the text though or when I size it small enough for a banner its unreadable. Thats actuall sized a 1/4 from the original adobe illustrator file :p

Since Brian is a business have to be very careful what I use. If its not public domain you cant use it for profit. The vectors in the logo are my own personal work from scratch. I just dont want to put countless hours in it till I find a avenue Brian is feeling good about.

Bare in mind its a logo not a graphic or picture. ;)

The pic on my computer is huge...I hadn't thought of it being reduced.
The wavy JR might look cool in front of the sun.

where can i get some of that silicone tubing used on the juice feeding? im not too found of the tilt and shoot method and wanted to turn my awesome redsky into a shoot'n'vape.

Just about any hobby store that sells Radio controlled models would have small silicone tubing for fuel line, but the 2" piece sent with the kit should be plenty long. Also you will need to extend the metal tube in the bottle to the bottom somehow. The tube is 1/16".

When I make a shoot 'n vape, I cut a 1" long metal tube so it sticks out below the bottle tip and attach the silicone tube to it and adjust till it almost hits bottom. It was talked about in past posts but thats all that is needed to be done to change it to non tilt n shoot. Remember it will need a real catch cup, so you will probably need to drill out a deep drip well. :)

Morning all! I see I've missed quite a bit! Got my diy kit while I was away and can't wait to get started! Some finishing instructs would be great Brian as I love the finish on mine

Love the new inlays too! Can't wait to see one finished

Heres a real easy finish 1. Sand until smooth. 2. Remove all dust. 3. Use lint free cloth/rag and 'Minwax wipe-on poly' applying a very light coat and wipe with the wood grain until almost tacky. Set aside for 24 hours and repeat 3 or 4 times.

Actually I have something better :) I just dont have the original eps file at work to edit :) It will be ALOT nicer. I cant wait to finish it and the banner Im working on it will be awesome.

Ill be placing my order soon as I get home from work. :)

If your talking kits, they will all go out either monday or tuesday again. I will send invoices the day before. The current batch of premades have priority but they are almost done. Arrrr...

Got a little question before I get busy in the shop. So far I've rounded, semi-rounded and beveled the edges of the box but I wonder what else might be done in the way of style. I tried more complex cuts but they didn't improve the looks in my opinion. I also thought about gouging finger grips on a lathe, but thats already being done by a guy who I consider one of the few competitors who actually knows how to work craft wood and I refuse to steal his thunder.

Any ideas? I am liking the simple bevel more and more and have not made many rounded over edges lately.

As always, input appreciated even if not acted upon :)
